Re: Brunell Reworks Deal (FKA "Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal")
Samuels signed a new deal last year so his salary isn't an issue.
It would be nice to convert that fat roster bonus... |
/Side note: Offiss: I have a degree in fitness training and served as a personal trainer, so yes, I know quite a bit about weight training thank you very much.
Oooh...stop, drop and roll...3rd degree burn!!! |
Re: Brunell Reworks Deal (FKA "Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal")
It seemed pretty obvious to me that the Post was just trying to start something. As of the weekend, any player would be reluctant to restructure becasue they were waiting on the CBA also. To put Brunnel's name on the headline as a sacrificial lamb was unjustified (obviously). They should be ashamed of themselves!
i think WaPo got their info from brunell's agent. then the skins came back with a better offer and they accepted that. |
Re: Brunell Reworks Deal (FKA "Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal")
If the Skins need cap room, why don't they just ask Chris Samuels to restructure his contract for the 1,574th time.
his base salary is too low, he can't convert anymore to bonuses right now, though he might hage an option bonus that could be converted... |
Re: Brunell Reworks Deal (FKA "Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal")
it the article is right, then brunell must have given back ~300k in real money to reach 1.8mill in savings. that brings back 3 starters (possibly 4) by itself then.

Re: Brunell Reworks Deal (FKA "Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal")
You just can't keep a good man down. Brunell is a true leader and team player. Hopefully , some other members of the team will follow his example.
------Sorry, Brunell haters, I know how disappointed you must be! |

I doubt it - Brunell's reaction was pretty visceral, but he didn't even mention the source. I'm sure they had a real source, but I don't think it was from MB's camp. |

whoever the original source of the rebuff rumor had to be in some way involved in the talks (either for the skins or MB) or else why even bother citing him/her? |

I agree there was probably a real source - I just don't think it was from MB's camp, that's all. That would, by process of elimination, put it in the Skins' camp, I guess. |
Re: Brunell Reworks Deal (FKA "Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal")
Brunell always was and always will be a class act. I still feel like an idiot for booing him at the Packers game in '04. He may be past his prime, but he's still a tremendous leader with guts and character. :httr:

Re: Brunell Reworks Deal (FKA "Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal")
Good. I was going to say anyone who doesn't help the skins now is a jackass. Good thing he helped. Go MARK!

Re: Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal
wow, thanks and sorry for making you repeat it so many times. So, Mark holds all the cards on this one I guess. He doesn't have to restructure cause the Skins don't gain much by cutting him. That makes him even more of an ass if he doesn't restructure.
If we don't know what the skins have offered him how can we condone him. How do we know that what they are offering him might be a big risk of him loosing alot of money. He is getting close to the end of his career and what he makes could be his last chance to make money as a football player. He has helped in the past and I feel he will do what is right for the team and himself. He also knows that next season could be his last to make a push for the SB and I think that will play a part in his decision making.
Sorry if I'm not up to date I see that Brunell did redue his contract. |
