You know what's ironic about him bashing Blache last year is that Blache was the guy who probably more than anyone pushed for the Skins to sign AH
then double boo boo on Blache for pushing to sign him whilst knowing that he wouldn't use him correctly

I'm not some huge AH apologist but this is just getting blown up to ridiculous levels
What's wrong with him saying he doesn't think that he'd be best used at nose tackle, but he'd play where they put him?

Like I've said a million times, dude didn't know what the offseason program would be, probably had it already planned and maybe paid for well in advance of all of this.

AH didn't create the story, this shouldn't even be a damn story. If he feels that he can improve more doing it the way he has before, great. Unless you're there and able to professionally evaluate him and determine that he'd be better at the park then what's the issue? Show up for a couple of weeks.. he probably already has his trainer booked, you don't just sign a guy up for that the day before then tell him wait 2 weeks.

Maybe he gives a shit about himself because he realizes that he can improve himself. Yeah it'd be great to have him there but face it, he's not. That doesn't make him a horrible guy.
He is probably right but why can't his preference stay in house? Why does he have to tell Sirius radio?

I understand him wanting to use "his guy" to train but why couldn't he have come out here for a week or two or even bring his guy out here?

It is a story because Allen said the status quo is unacceptable and the team is selling a different culture but Al does whatever he wants.

I don't think he is a horrible guy. He is my favorite player to watch. I just think he is being totally selfish and that this controversy could have easily been prevented.

His guy probably works with other clients as well, think my man.

He said he'd play where they wanted him but has a preference, to me that's not a big deal. People keep leaving out the first part it seems.

Let's see what happens at next weeks voluntary minicamp, I think that should show us how it will shake out.

It's been reported that he won't be there now. Media has access to players and he doesn't want the distraction is what's been reported.

I also heard he would but I don't have a clue. It just seems that it could go either way.

How is that a measure of how things will shakeout? It is a voluntary camp and he has already said he will not be there.
When Allen or Shanahan talk about changing the status quo we are talking about level of play, level of coaching and winning. Working out together, sitting in a circle, holding hands and singing Kumbaya is not going make us a better team.
There is no magical team summer workout or team togetherness activity that is going to make us a better team.
If Haynesworth were a QB or offensive skill position then I see the need for him to be here. But to see him decide which gap to take in a non-contact drill is pointless. He is a DL not a rocket scientist.
It is funny how Farve (a QB) can skip everything, summer workouts, training camp and preseason; show up for one preseason game and nobody in the press calls him a cancer.
But when Haynesworth skips volunteer shit he is called a cancer.
Double standard?

Well, I didn't really mean it like that. I think only so many things could happen:
1 he shows up, and basically the media chills out
2 he doesn't show up, the media grill MS and it is clear that MS wants to move him
3 he doesn't show up, the media grill MS and he handles it tactfully and the furor dies down.

Whichever option occurs, we should be able to see more. I think at least.

Actually as I remember it, virtually every pundit was calling him out for being a distraction, Diva, etc. AND several former head coaches iterated similar things as well as "if he played for me...he'd be GONE mentalities".
AND, AND if........Big Al is going to have ME problems that possibly could interfere with what MS and BA are building, I would ship his ass out on the first reasonable trade offer...........

Well this is pretty easy to answer. Because Favre's head coach publicly said he can take as much time as he wants.

What have the Redskins won with Al? What was our record last year? What was Favre's record last year? How many Super Bowls has Al been to? It isn't a double standard because Al hasn't earned special treatment.

His coach wants him there and he can't be a team player even though he just made 21 million. That is why it is a problem.

Why is this so hard to understand?

it's incredible to me how people can't see that Haynesworth, though a talented athlete, is being selfish in this instance. And he's coming across with the very attitude that has hindered the franchise in years past. That's was so wrong about it to me. Sure it's his RIGHT to work out with his personal trainer, but that still doesn't make it alright.
