Gradkowski still sucks.

re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
That may be true, but Gradkowski makes that team better and last season those guys played to Bruce. that's not the case with Campbell.
As we've said before, JC just didn't have that "it" factor that was necessary for success in the NFL. |

can we lock this yet?

re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Multiple reports close to the Raiders suggest that Cable could have been out today had they lost. They completely switched up their offensive line, moving their center to left tackle to try and fix their terrible OL problem. It didn't work. Next desperation move: quarterback change.
Things were more efficient with Gradkowski in the game. Oakland stopped trying to run so many deep routes and just put the ball in the hands of Murphy and Heyward Bey with timing patterns, letting them do things after the catch. Gradkowski has timing down with those guys, whereas Oakland is clearly trying to make Campbell throw it aggressively down the middle of the field without protection. In the context of winning the game, the halftime adjustments were exactly what they needed. Gradkowski played better than Campbell. But ultimately, Gradkowski nearly threw the game away in the final six minutes with a boneheaded interception, and while he plays as hard as any in the NFL, he's just not an NFL quarterback. |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Someone please tell me why on earth do we have a Campbell thread and another talking about how great the Bears and Jay Cutler are?
Who cares?? |

Yeah, but at least he puts himself in a position to make a play (OR an incomplete pass :D) with his receivers because of his superior pocket awareness and pocket presence when he's about to get killed. Campbell can't even get the throw off because he is worse in those areas. |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
It won't surprise me if Gradkowski starts next week. As someone else mentioned JC will have stats that look OK, but he simply doesn't make any plays, which is surprising cause he has playmaking skills.

re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Cable prefers Gradkowski. Davis and Hue Jackson prefer Campbell. Jackson was hand picked by Davis to run his offense. If it comes down to a power struggle, who do you think is going to win out there?
|
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Al Davis always wins.

Davis always wins. But Cable is right. Gradkowski does not look like a pro QB but he makes things happen out there. He reminds me of Jeff Garcia a little bit. |

He's just too careless with the ball and not accurate enough to overcome that flaw.

speaking of Garcia, i have no idea why he had to settle for the UFL this season. I know he's 40, but time and time again all the man does is win, and lead his team. He's a good locker room guy, excellent mentor, and always a fan favorite....

It takes that special something that can't be quantified to make your potential retirement such a spectacle that an entire organization would believe that you'll play for them forever. Garcia just doesn't have that intangible.

I agree that Grad can be too careless with the ball but it seems to me his carelessness comes from trying to make plays. Campbell isnt at all careless with the ball but it seems as if he's too afraid to take a chance and make a play. Gimme Grad over Campbell every time. |
re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Something tells me the Raiders will be QB shopping again next year. Clearly neither guy is the long term answer there.
