Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread
Flacco had been really awful in the playoffs through his first three seasons. This year, he put together two pretty nice games.
There's a huge difference between the two defenses each faced, but there's not enough of a difference to account for this fact: Joe Flacco just flat outplayed Tom Brady in the playoffs up in Foxboro. Hard to understate how rarely that happens. |
At this point I'm gong for San Fran too. I would much rather they face the Patriots instead of the Ravens anyway. I would love to see Alex Smith defeat Tom Brady.
Might as well.. the bandwagon around here that haven't paid attention to football since the late 80s/early 90s is annoying but could be worse with other teams I suppose |
It was Evans but yeah
Thanks for the correction. Goats of the game are definitely Evans and Cundif. |

Me too. |
Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread
And like I said every year for the past six years the team the redskins have played in the regular season has won the super bowl. The ravens are the only team we didn't play this year remaining in the playoffs.

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread
I thought the refs did really well in that AFC Championship game. It was physical on the outside, and you could have easily called a bunch of illegal contact fouls, especially on the Patriots at the end of the game. But they let both defenses get away with borderline stuff. And by letting them play, you limit potential controversy at the end of the game.

Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread
I dunno why people are signing away the Super Bowl to the Pats. Honestly I expected (and hoped for) a Pats v. Saints Super Bowl seeing as I'm a part time Saints fan, but the 49ers scrapped that.
I mean if the 49ers can beat Breezy... Then I really think this Super Bowl is up for grabs. |
Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread
Truthfully, I would rather the Skins not to go the NFC Championship than to lose the game like the Ravens just did.

Yeah let em bump around a bit.. but I think that they missed some holds on each side.. seems to be trending in the NFL though.. thought the Pats CBs got away with a lil holding and/or PI but nothing crazy |
Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread
I am happy for the Pats for 1 reason.... Fat albert is probably kicking his self for missing a chance of a life time. Prob not though he just wants to get paid.

The lone happy thought I'll have if the Pats winning the Super Bowl. |
Re: AFC/NFC Championship Game Thread
man that game was there for the ravens and they just lost it 3 times in a row..damn Lee Evans had it won, Cundiff f*cked up the kick to go to OT, and Flacco threw a pick to spikes that caused them to lose momentum in drives which could have won the game...damn, if I'm a ravens fan I'm throwing up. If I'm a skins fan in that situation, someone just stabbed me in the heart 3 times and left me for dead.

ravens were better today that's how close the NFL is.. kickers suck
