Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
I would by that argument if A) Griffin played like Cam which he doesn't and B) Griffin was a run first QB in college like Cam was which he wasn't. He's a pocket passer who has Mike Vick type speed and all of a sudden he's a scrambling QB. How many big hits did he take on in college? Does he take tackles head on like Cam and Luck do? At 6'2" 220lbs he isn't small but he's also not stupid. I'm sure he knows how and when to slide.

After the combine and workout the colts will take RGIII anyone wanna take me up on it?

That could quite possibly be the case. I'm actually hoping for this to happen... |

What's your wager? If the Colts take RGIII I guarantee Andrew Luck is a Washington Redskin. |

I completely agree. |
Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
Figured it was time for a new QB thread. Here are 8 FA QBs (including restricted) and 8 non-Redskins teams they've been associated with
Peyton Manning-Arizona Cardinals Matt Flynn-Cleveland Browns Drew Brees-New Orleans Saints Brian Hoyer-New England Patriots Chad Henne-New York Jets Josh Johnson-Seattle Seahawks Kyle Orton-St. Louis Rams Jason Campbell-Chicago Bears
So in this scenario, what would happen to Kolb in AZ? I recall I did a similar projection with Manning to AZ, Kolb to Cleveland (reunited with former Philly coaches and front office personnel) and Flynn to Miami. Kolb is due a nice chunk of change in March and Skelton played well enough to be a primary backup. So Campbell's days as a starter are done? I'd think he could contend for the starting job in Seattle, KC, Miami, Cleveland and be an experienced QB in waiting in Denver should the full season Tebow experiment go awry. |

I doubt it. Luck has a higher floor and is much less of an injury risk which after a year without Peyton is a huge selling point for the Colts. The question isn't weather RGIII is going to get injured but rather when. I personally like Griffin more but if I was picking for the Colts I would take Luck. Luck is much more equipped to run a pro style offense in terms of routes and reading coverage out of a traditional NFL offense. He also has just as strong an arm as Griffin and while he's no where near the scrambler that Griffin is he can definitely move and pick up yards with his feet as well as create second chance opportunities. There is no doubt that Baylor's offense is gimmicky and probably has some odd reads and adjustments which will factor against Griffin. And theres no doubt Griffin can learn these things but with Luck it is less likely to be an issue. I will say this though. Griffin is more likely to win rookie of the year then Luck even though Luck will be the better passer right out of the gate. |

Or heck even Campbell there. I mean these are just some rumored options. Nothing etched in stone. |
Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
Would new England even be willing to trade hoyer? If so what would it take? And would he come in as the undisputed starter?
|
Re: Eight QBs and Where The Latest Rumors Have Them Going
i bet you could snag hoyer with a 3rd if you were so inclined

And I bet NE would take that 3rd round pick and laugh their asses off while hanging up the phone. |

I'd have to agree with this as well. No way the Redskins allow any other team other than the Colts to make a play for Luck. I think in this case, all forms of logic would probably go out the window. |
