LL @HTTR24_7 Good news #Redskins #4 in overall offense.. Bad news 28th in defense |
Re: Orakpo and Carriker Done for Season
With the opponents we are playing this year, I would expect our defense to consistently be in the bottom half, simply because there aren't many teams we are facing who have a bad offense. Most of them are score at will types. So it will be important that our offense is capable of matching them. Unfortunately the defenses we are playing only get stronger as well. We need Garcon back, and we need FD to do better than 2 receptions on 5 targets if we hope to win consistently this year.

He didnt want to be on our practice squad. Chose Bucs over us bc he wanted to be a 4-3 DE. But active rosters are a whole different scenario |

Good news #Redskins #4 in overall offense.. Bad news 28th in defense
LOL! The 'skins never seem to have two good things at once. It's usually either a great defense and a sorry offense, or the other way around. Kind of like the Friday movie - "You never have anything that matches around here.....peanut butter no jelly, cereal no milk, ham no burger....." |

Gotcha, I had thought it was a personal conflict. Glad he's back. |

Yes!! He's my sleeper player, he could have an impact. |

This eases my mind a bit!

Re: Orakpo and Carriker Done for Season
White and worthington to active roster, I feel good about them. Now we know why Shanahan likes so many players to compete.

It doesn't ease mine. Even with the Rams having 3 starters out on their OL, we STILL couldn't generate any pressure. |
Re: Orakpo and Carriker Done for Season
Keenan Robinson was drafted to be the next London Fletcher. Lets see if the Texas LB can fill Orapkpo's shoes.

Sunday's defensive performance looked like 2010 all over again, indeed. I still think the front seven could be a solid unit, but that doesn't matter if Haslett doesn't get it together. |
Defensive line Starters: RE Jarvis Jenkins, NT Barry Cofield, LE Stephen Bowen Reserves: E Kedric Golston, E Worthington, NT Chris Baker Jenkins gets his big opportunity and there is no reason to think that he won’t handle it well. After all, the Redskins drafted him in the second round to take over for Carriker at some point and that might have been this year had Jenkins’ not missed all of last season with a torn ACL. This is not to say that there won’t be a dropoff with Carriker out, at least in the short term. He was the starter for a reason and Jenkins is far from a finished product. Jenkins still might fill in to give Cofield a rest in nickel situations while Baker, who was inactive in the first two games, will rotate in at NT on some running downs. Golston moves up to being the top reserve at DE. Linebacker Starters: OLB’s Ryan Kerrigan, Rob Jackson; ILB’s Perry Riley, London Fletcher Reserves: OLB’s White, Chris Wilson; ILB’s Lorenzo Alexander, Keenan Robinson The Redskins have been an anomaly in the NFL in that their four linebackers stay on the field for virtually every snap. That could change as the Redskins want to give both Jackson and Wilson at shot at winning Orakpo’s job. They could end up rotating situationally as they determine the strengths and weaknesses of each. The other reserve linebackers will continue to do what they have done, play special teams and wait to see if their opportunity comes up.
Honestly this is what quality depth gives you. While Rak and Carriker were the starters for clear reasons, I tend to think that with time the reserves will step up and show themselves well. |
Re: Orakpo and Carriker Done for Season
Wilson was a preseason beast. Let's hope he can step it up while the real lights are on.

Seriously. They were playing a third string LT at one point. What would ease my mind is if a second opinion said Rak would be playing next week. Happy for White, but I wouldnt call him an impact player. |
