Re: Off Season Griffin Man Crush thread
Bottom line look at the game he got injured in, the Ravens game was a pass play that he scrambled and didnt get down quick enough. His injury was not due to the style of offense we played last year.

I don't care about all of this made up problems with the staff, his ego, or anything else. This kid is a baller and the face of the franchise and is heading towards being the face of the NFL.
It will never end, but believe me I still love the kid we met about a year ago and still believe he is the same person as when he got here. Man crush continues from ArtMonkforHall!!! |

This is a perfect example.
again, the post did an interview with Griffin's dad. Who do you think set up the interview? (I put my money on the Post). Then ESPN carried it, wrapped it up in their writing and put a little more spin on it. That's what the media does. And that, to me, is a perfect example of a media driven issue. I am sure many dads think their sons bosses could do things differently. The reason this gets playtime, is because stories about Griffin generate views. Thus they want more stories about Griffin. I will say this, the best discussion I have seen from Griffin on the Seattle game, and the end of last season, came in the ESPN magazine a few weeks back. If you haven't read it, you should, it gives a very good portrait of the whole situation. |

John Keim is saying that griffin is looking good in OTAs planting his foot and throwing.
that is the liberal/socialist mindset in a nutshell. no gifts at all, unless everyone is equal. screw those rich people, nogiftsforyou. tey didnt build that, et cetera (insert democrat slogan here)
Re: Off Season Griffin Man Crush thread
To many people worried about perception. The reality is the people who go on to win championships tend to believe that they can win championships. In other words, they are arrogant. I hope RG3 is arrogant. I dont want a choir boy, I want a SB victory.
Michael Jordan is not a nice guy. Never has been. But who exactly cares when you can put 6 rings on your fingers? If RG3 wins a SB as the Redskins QB, who exactly is going to care about twitter from after his rookie year? The only thing wrong with him accepting gifts is that he doesnt have a ring yet. If he did, no one would care. We have to deal with the media and RG3's dad giving interviews. We used to have to deal with a team that was led by Vinny. I will take a talkative dad and media hype all day long over Vinny. Its not like hes married to a supermodel who goes on a drunken rage and bashes his team mates when they lose an important game, but then again, 2 rings justify that. With success comes exposure, and it seems some would rather go back to a 3-13 record than deal with the media crap that comes with being relevant. I am thrilled RG3 is here, warts and all. People expect him to be perfect. You are just reaching way to far on what should be expected. Perfection is not going to happen. |

Pretty amazing that he's planting and throwing.

Yup. I am sure that he had to have a gazillion people sign off on that one. I am aslo sure that the Shanny hate will undoubtedly flow. Most probably think the guy should just go into cold storage until sometime after Sept. 1st. |
Re: Off Season Griffin Man Crush thread
Also, I'm sure he's lightly going through the motions. Highly doubt he's going full speed. Just wanted to get this in before the inevitable freak-outs.

Griffin read off a script of plays designed by the training staff so he doesn't do too much, too fast. He threw with good zip and accuracy to a group that included tight end Fred Davis, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon last October. Robert Griffin III looks good at Redskins workout Sounds like its half speed stuff. It was also reported a while back that he was throwing and had been doing some roll out throws in rehab. Sounds like he is continuing with that. |

Re: Off Season Griffin Man Crush thread
I am sure he's a good leader and says all the right things but all this Tour de Hype he's constantly on and the fact that he doesn't know when to take himself out of games doesn't give me much confidence in his character.
At the end of the day this is one mans opinion and if you think about it you too will find there are certain things you don't like about his character. I certainly didn't appreciated him tweeting SMH or various other stuff he says or does. Bottom line, if he continues to perform all will be fine, if he does not it will be the football version of Donald Trump and let me tell you, no one really likes Donald Trump. M'kay. p.s. RG3 is doing a news conformance on ESPN right now talking about "Just so you guys know I will be talking every week so you will get to talk to me more than just today" |
