Re: First place Redskins
Jordan Breeland always might be one of our best picks at that position since Champ Bailey. We've drafted other CB's who seem to show promise as rookies but they either regress or can't adjust to how they are adjusted to.
Breeland seems like the real deal. |

Isn't it nice? One thing McC and gruden have done is get the lockerroom in a good place...also it seems like by getting rid of staff and players those leaks have dried up. I was so sick of that Kardashian-like bullshit before with the media and the players...the coaching staff and the media. Seems like staff and players are focused on football..good stuff |

If you’re wondering about the play-calling process, it goes something like this: Offensive coordinator Sean McVay relays the call to the quarterback. Before that point, McVay, Gruden and line coach Bill Callahan will confer. Sometimes it’s before a series, with Callahan letting him know which runs he wants to use. Gruden said he might suggest which passes to use and third-down plays. Sometimes Gruden interjects and suggests a play. But then only one voice relays the play to the quarterback. “It’s been a pretty smooth deal for us,” Gruden said. “Whoever calls the play -- recommends the play -- is really insignificant. It’s about the execution of the play. We feel good about the way we’re executing the play-calling system.” |
Re: First place Redskins
It' s about that time this team finally gets back to .500...and keep pace in this 3 way dogfight for this sorry division.

Re: First place Redskins
I am not sure if McVay and Gruden recognized something early on with Buffalo's defense, but something definitely seemed different about our offense today. It seemed like they finally gave up on using the run to setup the pass and went into attack mode several times in the game not just to take the lead but to extend the lead and seal the game.
I know a win next week would obviously be the biggest of the season, but if today the style that we can expect until the running game improves, I think it will be a turning point. Rex Ryan is not a great head coach but he usually has his defense primed and ready to go and we dropped 35 on them and probably would have been more if we hadn't gone through that bit of a lull towards the end of 3rd quarter/beginning of 4th quarter. Also, we were finally involving Jackson in passes that weren't just deep bombs and Jackson showed he is still capable of taking any kind of catch, making that first guy miss, and turning on the afterburners to the house. I know they are still just a 7-7 team but games like this, against a team I expected to give the 'Skins offense more fits, is probably the most encouraging thing I've witnessed this season. |

Re: First place Redskins
Anyone know why the Eagles get 3 straight home games? Don't recall that happening much before. Usually 2 @ home then hit the road.
Oh well, just leave Philly with a W. |
Re: First place Redskins
If the Cardinals take care of the Eagles tonight then I believe beating Philly next Saturday would render our final game against Dallas meaningless since if we and the Giants both finish 8-8 we have the tiebreaker.
