well, i would really like the move, getting nnamdi along with the nice solid pieces we have picked up, then getting the j. brown signing done..............oh, and dont forget the orton deal. id give a 3rd and a 6th for him..........isnt he even younger than beck? i know he has a better arm......

On one hand, if the Cowboys get him, that means they won't have any money to fill other holes on their roster. On the other hand, it means one of our receivers will be eliminated when we play the Cowboys. If we can move guys around and get the best matchups it doesn't mean Moss will have to go up against Asomugha all the time, which is good, because Moss has been our most consistent weapon against the Cowboys since he got here.

if they trade drc, they will have gotten rid of kolb, and gotten a 1st 2nd and 5th round pick for him basically..............what are the chances that drc stays on as a nickel, i just can't see that..................

oh the humanity of it all

Mechanix544 07-29-2011 06:25 PM

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2

so now the question is, who would trade a 1st rounder for a young up and coming DRC?

Could Samuel be cut?

Mechanix544 07-29-2011 06:27 PM

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2

i mean, wouldnt the smart move be moving him right now instead of burying him on the depth chart letting him get a year older and chance on reducing his value? what is the chance that they let go of asante?

what does his contract look like? I dont see the reason to have 3 probowl #1 cornerbacks on your roster............that would be very expensive, and vince young also is going to be signed..............sorry, but if it was only 12 mil against the cap for an elite talent like NA, i say we should have at least gotten a look see......i thought the market was at 15mil and above for his services. Eagles are lapping everyone when it comes to this offseason. they will win the east no problem this year if vick can stay healthy.
Wow, so the Jets refuse to up their offer and now say they're out of the Nnamdi bid.
I don't blame them and to be honest with you, I'm shocked they've allowed Nnamdi to lead them around by their nose. You saw how that game went when C. Jenkins agent tried that with the SKins. We left him in the dust and moved onto our next target, leaving him with even less leverage with other teams than before. See the below to understand how they already lost out on a key player because their whole FA so far has hinged around ONE player and waiting on his decision.

The New York Jets can't make any big moves in free agency until Nnamdi Asomugha makes a decision. - ESPN New York
As the star cornerback weighs his offers and mulls his football future, the Jets -- one of his suitors -- are paralyzed by the uncertainty.

It cost them a chance to re-sign all-purpose star Brad Smith, who told ESPNNewYork.com Thursday in an e-mail that "everything with the Jets was contingent on Nnamdi." In other words, the Jets wanted Smith to wait before they made an offer.
I don't know what Nnamdi's agent is thinking. Your highest value is going to come when more bidders are involved, and yet each team vying for him have pulled out. Smart teams just pull out, go to the next option and move on. I applaud the Texans for pulling out and signing Joseph and a safety instead of wrapping up a huge sum in one player.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2

GD shitballs McGee. How are we going to contend with that? There's no way teams will be able to throw on the Eagles this season. If you don't throw at Nnamdi, you throw at Samuel, aka the interception machine, and if you're not throwing at him, you're throwing at DRC, who is easily capable of being a 3rd corner. Then again maybe they move DRC to safety? I don't see him as a SS though, and they have Nate Allen at free.

It's gonna be a lot harder to beat the Eagles this season that's for sure.

Michael Lombardi is saying that since the Cowboys can't get Nnamdi, they go hard for Cullen Jenkins. I wonder if they go for Ty Warren before him though.

That was my reaction as well. Makes you wonder what they'll do now. Something has to give with DRC/Nnamdi/Samuels. Going to be interesting to see.

Like I said in the other thread. Andy Reid for HC/GM/Exec of the Year. Fleecing two teams for scrub QBs and now pulling off a major FA move. FUUUUUUUUUUUU

5 years 60 mil? Jesus. I thought Asomugha was going to get in the neighborhood of 15-18 mil per year. But 12 mil per year? The Jets couldn't do 12 mil per?

Eagles have got to be the odds on favorite to go to the SB this year.

And don't underestimate the signing of Babin. Extremely solid pair of bookends there, I bet Babin will light it since he's being reunited with Jim Washburn.
