Redneckedness AINT even a word! I spent the majority of my military career in Georgia and my Grandmother is originally from Mississippi. Like I said I have some tendencies, but I am a YANK! |

Ewww.... no. I don't eat peanut butter or pickles very often and certainly not together. My husband eats four PB sandwiches a day. I told him his blood was going to turn black. That actually happens to some people. |
Re: The Never Ending Thread
Ok fellas I gotta make like a bread truck and haul buns. Later...
I am not in the Damn South stop lying.
The South doesnt claim us they say we are from the North The North doesnt claim us they say we are from the South The only thing that Washitonians can truly claim is the East Coast. I consider myself a northerner with southern tendency's.
Technically, you're in the south cause you're south of the mason dixon line. LB, to answer your question as to why yankees move to the south...there is more opportunity in the south. I'm from Boston, it has more people per square mile than probably just about anywhere in the country. It's constantly packed, and jobs are hard to come by. Also, the cost of living in the north is way too expensive. My brother bought his 1600 sq ft house (built in the 30's) for 610k. Add to that the fact that there is a lot of snow in the north (which I personally miss, but a lot of people get fed up with) and that is why yankees move to the south. It's prettier in the north, and is rich in history. It's also a college kids dream in terms of the amount of colleges. And I don't care what you say, the food in the north is much better than the south. All those hole in the wall italian places, and the best chinese on the planet. I've been to all but 9 states, and while every place has decent food, the north has the best food bar none. |

How exactly are you a yank with those geographical areas on your resume? |

I've never been up North so I don't really know what it's like up there. Southern food is much better. We do comfort foods like nobody's business. You can't beat our bbq, southern fried chicken or country fried steak with sawmill gravy. Everything we eat has a ton of butter or sugar in it and lots of seasoning. It's mmm... mmm... good. You can't compare international foods, we're talking about american foods here. |

I am italian, but I was born and raised in Boston. So while you may see italian food as from italy (and it is) I see it as from home (boston) cause plenty of americans are of italian descent. Just like if you think about the southwest, you think of mexican food, if it's the north it's italian food. ps- if you we're talking about strictly local foods, not ethnicity, I'll take seafood any day of the week. There is a reason why people think Lobster and Steak is the most special dinner you can have, and you get that in the north. pps- bbq was invented in the midwest, not the south. From K.C. to Chicago. So what you're telling me is the south is responsible for heart attacks? LOL. |
Re: The Never Ending Thread

While I agree NC is pretty, there is nothing like New England. New England in the fall is breathe taking. |
