Interesting that they already locked him in. It makes sense being that he is our best back behind Morris. Why was Morris held out of game 1? Trying to give Helu more reps since he missed last year possibly? What kind of camp did Morris have? I really did not hear much about AM this year. I would have figured him to be a guy to watch and write about. Is he looking solid and better than last year? |
Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0
My prediction for the preseason from here is lance Lewis becomes the next Marco Mitchell. I am actually rooting for the guy my Brother in law played football with him and is from his area.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0
I find it pretty odd that a star athlete would get stage fright in front of his teammates???

Some guys are like that. Isn't the fear of public speaking like one of the number one phobias? As long as he isn't jittery on the field I'm good with it!

True, never been able to do it myself... |
Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0
^^ Thats a bit concerning. I kind of want all players to be confident in NFL settings to be superstars on the field. He was a playmaker in college. Rookie skits and performances are expected. I've never heard of a stage fright issue in camp with the guys meant to be "bonding" with and building "chemistry" with. Being silly and yourself are supposed to be the easy part of being a pro. If he can't do that, then learn the playbook and visualize being better than Fred. It starts tonight rook'.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0
Maybe he's just a reserved type of person. No big deal.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0
What Matty said. Some people, by nature, are more introverted. Others are much more comfortable being in the spotlight and the center of attention. No problem with Reed being a more reserved type of person. That's no indication of how he plays on the field.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0
IMO people are looking at Reed like Hernandez, both played at florida from Connecticut quiet guys. Every book is different.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 3.0
I teach public speaking for a living. Confidence speaking and confidence doing other things have nothing to do with one another. I know plenty of quality athletes who struggle with public speaking.

Pretty sure a lot of people have never heard of an NFL rookie having this type of issue because if it does happen (which I'm sure it happens, probably amongst plenty of rookies on plenty of teams) it doesn't make headlines. I don't think there are any players that would want to rat out a rookie teammate like that to the media for being introverted. |

yeah . . . public speaking is terrifying to a lot of people . . . if you put 100 people that i know in my house for a party, i have no problem talking to any of them or even yelling across all of them to get someones attention on the other side of the room . . . that being said, give me a speech to say, put me in front of a podium in that same house with the same 100 people and i will be nervous as hell . . . the podium is like a nervous switch or something . . . i have worked on that for 20 years now and still have issues at times . . . |
