Re: All things Redskins training camp
I wonder what McCloughan thinks of Reed. He flashes that great athleticism but it doesn't feel like he fits the mold of tough and physical.
Gotta prove he can stay healthy for McC to be interested in extending him, I gotta imagine. Even then I don't imagine he'll commit a lot of $, I imagine he'd only want to go incentive-laden. |
Paul is now listed as the #1 TE?? Wow. He must really be having a great camp/offseason.
Niles Paul is one of the first players that caught Jay's eye last spring. He's a big fan. A lot of coaches really like the work Paul has put in. Even since before then Paul has had fans in the organization. This is a big reason why Mike Shanahan moved Paul from WR to TE. Wanted to find the best opportunity to keep him on the roster All that said, it's just early August. No need to get too worked up over the depth chart yet |

Brian McNally
13m13 minutes ago Brian McNally @bmcnally14 Brandon Scherff went down with what looked like a right leg injury. Trainers attending to him. 10m10 minutes ago Brian McNally @bmcnally14 Scherff looks ok. I mean...he's in pain but he's walking around. Looked like they were testing if he could push off on right ankle |

Brian McNally – @bmcnally14 Robert Griffin III has made some THROWS today. To Pierre Garcon multiple times. Just now a beauty of a deep ball for a "touchdown" 1:19 PM - 10 Aug 2015 |

Sam Bradford and Ryan Matthews are about to change that. |
Re: All things Redskins training camp
It's just preseason but, YAY! Football is almost back.
Wonder how Hard Knocks will portray Saturday's brawl. It's hard to tell anything from practice football. Just hoping for no injuries and a solid showing from RGIII. Would be nice to see Matt Jones truck someone. |

Re: All things Redskins training camp
Keim writes that Preston Smith looks slow in camp. To me, he seemed to lack quickness on his college film and I didn't like the pick in the draft. I doubt that he can play OLB in the NFL. Am I missing what the Skins saw in him to draft him as an OLB?
They had him lose weight to play OLB but I wouldn't be shocked if they ultimately decide to have him gain weight and move to DE next year. Seems like a better fit to me. But first let's see what he's got in the preseason games. |

highlights from Monday practice
"When Brandon Scherff was sidelined with a twisted ankle (he walked off OK after practice and said he was fine), Spencer Long replaced him for the first series but rookie Arie Kouandjio took over the next. For what it's worth, Paea got past Scherff in one-on-one work. The rookie got his hands on him -- they're usually a little wide, then he works them inside. However, Paea's quickness resulted in a successful rush. But Scherff stopped Baker twice in a row, thanks to good hands. Scherff also stayed low when Baker tried to go wide and beat him." |

It too way way way too early to make a judgement on the transition, but he looks more like a DE to me. Great leverage player...but playing in space is such a big change. |
