Week 17
Why can't they get a new stadium built in SD? The Padres got a new stadium. You're so right on moving to LA. No one will give a damn about the Chargers in LA.
Ever since Kroenke threatened to move to inglewood last January, Spanos and his spin master counsel mark Fabiani have been sabotaging any attempt by the mayor. They walked away from the negotiating table and have been basically rejecting every attempt. The truth is ever Steve balmer bought the clippers for $2 billion (an nba team mind you!) everyone's eyes including the nfl officials lit up and it became a rat race. Spanos is so low on the nfl owner totem pole in terms of net worth. The operation is Mickey Mouse. LaDanian Tomlinson said in his time chefs, trainers, and other amenities were removed...stuff that is standard for most nfl franchises. For stadium, there is uncertainty that they would get 2/3 vote for public funding but even when city officials have provided different financing plans Spanos and Fabiani have put a squash to it. Personally, I would have ended all talks with Spanos myself if I was the mayor and went to talk to Mark Davis about building him a new stadium in SD. Unlike Spanos and Kroenke, Davis and raiders are just looking for a stadium and it is the city/county that are being difficult. Spanos is a loser. He is cheap and he's a clown...if he had any class he wouldn't hide behind Fabiani the whole time. He's going to struggle in LA; because a) if you don't win in LA, your franchise will struggle and b) no one likes you, you are basically the red headed stepchild if there are 2 teams which is likely the case. I saw a poll about 6 months or so ago from LA times. The results were ~50% respondents wanted Rams, ~18% wanted raiders and 3% wanted chargers. The nfl is being short sighted IMO. The Chargers will fail in LA unless they win a couple of Super Bowls within first 5-8 years (if they survive). It's funny because before the Chargers kept telling the city oh don't worry we got time, figure out a new stadium...but now it's clear as day they are singularly focused on beating Kroenke to LA and they don't care about alienating SD. They have been nasty and degrading anything SD. Edit: when I tell my SD friends, how DC/MD/VA all fight over getting the skins and are more than willing to build them a stadium, they just shake their heads. |

psssh, I would not put it past Jerry to sign this piece of shit. Jerry has zero character, Manziel is a fit. |

Jerry Jones open to 'risks' at quarterback The Cowboys have made finding a backup to Tony Romo a priority. Jones told 105.3 The Fan he will likely take some risks for the QB position if "the upside is there -- that old risk/reward situation -- then yeah, we can take some risks." This guy...Manziel is a drunk, who gives up on his teammates and goes to Vegas rather than be with his own team. Please God make this happen |
Re: Week 17
@BurgundyBlog: Report says RGIII prefers to land in Dallas. Would hate this because I want to be able to root for him. If he goes there, he's dead to me.

With the salaries the top guys make and the injury risks they take, I'm surprised we don't see more early turnover at the elite levels. I think we will start to see more of that, but that will make the younger stars rise faster. |

Detroit just sucks the love for football out of players. barry was 30 when he retired. this blows my mind. |

I think Sanders retired because the Lions wouldn't let him play for another team. |

It was that and (mostly) tired of the "culture of losing". |
Re: Week 17
CJ has about 4 years left. he's made enough money; if his heart isn't into it, better to do something else. he just needs to make sure though, cause it's hard to come back.
