He has been terrible by QBR, DYAR, and DVOA. Terrible. The only QBs who have been worse are Jones and Wentz, depending on the metric.
So you're saying we have the second-best QB in the division! |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Yeah Ron is trying to see if DH will show up and play well or will he pout and cave..

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
I think this week should be his last full game. If we are losing in a bad blowout, then bench him at halftime and try and do better next week.
If the game is close but Haskins struggles the whole game, then i think the decision should be made prior to the Rams game. There is still time that a QB change could spark our offense and win us a couple more games. The season isn't lost yet, but we aren't doing anything well with Haskins. I dare say he played better last year under Bill Callahan. |

(2) O'Connell had a full offseason and season to work with Haskins and it showed the benefits when Callahan finally allowed O'Connell to call plays in the last two (?) games. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
As far as I am concerned, this next game will be one to many. He says all of the right things during the week but shows nothing on Sunday.

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Stop piling on.. with our secondary he'd have to score thirty points a game, the kid won't throw three interceptions in one game the rest of the season, remember we got some key players on defense out and the Ravens are gonna take it to us on the ground, we got one good receiver, no tight ends worth anything and running back by commitee, let the kid finish the season!

No, Haskins did not play better last year. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Jets, Giants , Vikings and Falcons could all go after a QB.
It's a good QB class though. Lawrence Fields Lance Ehlinger Trask
My man D’Eriq King too. He is a wildcard. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Main issues with George and Schroeder though were they were both douchebags who commanded zero respect from their teammates.
These days being a douche bag commands all sorts of respect. They were just ahead of their time..., |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
No chance those 2 teams pass on Trevor L
And some other team would give up a lot to trade up too. Lawrence won’t skip past 2nd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I think it's good to keep in mind that Urban Meyer told Rivera that Dwayne needs to be pushed, needs to be challenged, and that he responds well to that.
I think that's what Ron is doing here. I don't think he's ready to bail after 3 starts for him. Haskins loves a challenge
I don't read Ron Rivera as the kind of coach and man to put a player on notice and then not follow through if the player doesn't respond to the challenge. Unlike Urban Meyer, Rivera may not want a QB that needs to be pushed. He may want one who is self-motivated. That's why it would not surprise me if Dwayne Haskins doesn't keep his starting job beyond the Ravens game. |

Everyone is forgetting that Rivera started Allen pretty much the whole year last year. Also, he traded a draft pick for him. Oh yeah, Allen may have some talent too. Haskins needs to play much better against Baltimore.

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
RR has been preaching culture change ever since he took the job.
If he tolerates Haskins poor play to a degree viewed as unfair in the locker room, he may as well wear a shirt that says Bruce/Dan 4eva! I don't know what is fair or unfair but he should know with his wealth of experience and reputation as a tough player's coach. By fair, I don't mean the same as others. A 1st round QB pick is going to be treated differently than a 5th round Olineman. He has to deal with Haskins in a manner consistent with the culture he is building. |

He has already said there is a point where he'll move on from Haskin, but 3 games into the season is not that point If I were to guess, this point will be the bye week. |
Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Remember, RR said that the situation of the division race is a factor, as well. If the other three teams, or just the Cowboys, lose this week then RR may determine to go for the division title in which case Haskins could be benched.
