Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
If I could say, it's not as much "seeing your side", as it is the extremeness of your points of view. Certainly you are entitled to your opinion, and to express it here, but if you are going to proclaim loudly that we have all the talent and coaching to go 14-2, and then turn around and proclaim that the season is lost and throw the bums out, then you have to understand that you are going to get called on that.
SS pointed out the irony that you had us losing to Tennessee at the beginning of the season, but now that they got RM, and we have to play them, that means we are going to lose to them. Also, it's not like you said, I think we will go 14-2, in a prediction thread, and just threw it out there. You defended it in several long, and cogent, posts. That just makes everyone so much more aware of the dichotomy of you going to such a negative stance.
Getting called out on being wrong about predicting us to go 14-2 is one thing,to assume this team can't go 14-2 and thinking that's crazy..is another. Gano makes the FG in the Texans game and then the TO never happens for the ice and we're 5-3 McNabb hitting galloway on the long bomb at the end, instead of the crazy INT by the colts...and we're 6-2 The lions and rams games are as they are... I believe this team is better than their 4-4 record... but we are, what we are right now and that's 4-4. |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
You're getting called out because you told us all how you're basically "a football man, not a football fan" and your years of knowledge were reason enough for you to predict a 14-2 record. So whatever, that's fine. I think we all wished your prediction was the worst that we would do.
But now, you're ranting about what a total failure the decision to not sign Moss was and how we should just fire Shanahan now. And now we're going to lose to the Titans (even though you already had us losing to them). It's not like you had us sweeping the Giants and now Moss is with the Giants I think you tend to start typing everything without doing any sort of self-editing. If you're going to last here, you need to have a bit more self-control when you post. And don't pull the I know more football card bc that doesn't fly here |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Since this thread has no real direction anymore I will post this here since its just a maybe. But, from what Im reading there is a chance we could have both Portis and Torain in week 10. No tear in Torain MRI and Portis is starting to practice. I was happy to see this and hope it is true.
Not only did we NOT improve our offense or give Mcnabb a true #1 WR target,we allowed the Titans to be better and improve.
We also play the Titans in 3 weeks on the road. And we haven't really played very well against 6'4" or big receivers in case you haven't noticed. (see Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson) I didn't criticize Shanny for cutting B.Banks and starting him immediately I didn't criticize him for the Fat Albert fiasco all off season and i didn't even criticize him on pulling Mcnabb (yea,I think I'm the only one...lol) But this is just absolutely and monumentally freakin' retarded Shanny... You were willing to trade for moss with new England before the Vikings traded a 3rd rounder for him. (we were offering less) as reported by many sources. But you wouldn't claim him off waivers for free, block the Titans and give the offense 2 weeks to work him in the system for a Playoff run. Not to mention give Mcnabb a true weapon for when he adlibs on throwing the deep ball. Shanny..I can officially say..you're a freaking moron and you're FIRED!! Oh..and you'll tryout "coke head" Matt Jones, but pass on perhaps the 2nd greatest WR to ever lace them up. Yea,lets stick to Galloway and Roydell Well guys...it was a nice run, while it lasted. One thing is for sure....you won't have to worry about me posting 3 game look a head Threads. Shanny is using this season to put his stamp on the team....Playoffs are obviously not what he is after in his tenured season. Our FO is obviously clueless and flabbergasted from all the D.C. media stories. They can't handle it. Tme to hire Russ Grimm and fire this stupid POS.
|

Well, for all of ace's talk of being "a football man", he sure sounds just many a "football fan".

Calvin Johnson of the Detroit is doing a good job and has so far looked like a good guy. I have not followed every moment of his career but he looks and sounds like a good kid. Plus his play is out of this world good. I think he is currently a top 2 or 3 WR in the entire NFL. |

Dude,i'm sorry. I just can't take you seriously with that sig man. (although my 14-2 prediction sig was bad as well) Not only do you want this loser to replace a guy, who's quite responsible for why we are even 4-4 and not worse... But to replace him with a Cowboy...A no-no redskins Cardinal rule. Dude? Would I get a pass,if i had "Cut Mcnabb and Trade for Romo" (I know we've had this argument before btw) Dude...Let me tell ya a secret? Wade FREAKIN' SUCKS! lol Sorry man lol I'm not a facepalm kinda guy,but man...that deserves a facepalm or a mudmask or something. |

That said I wouldn't want him at this point due to his cowboys connection and I don't know how he will respond once he gets fired. |

Tubby sucks as a head coach, but if there is someone above him that keeps everyone in line, he does what he's supposed to do: field a competitive defense. Haslett needs to show me that he's not the same dude who ran the Steelers' top 5 defense into a merely average defense. |

Tubby the head coach sucks. That's why they're sucking. Oh wait, I said that. |

Um, they allowed David Garrad to throw 4 tds last week in a game in which they quit (again) and allowed 35 points. They've allowed 35 points again this week and there's still a quarter and a half of football left. Wade Phillips calls all the defensive plays. He's a gigantic fail. How can you justify having him over Haslett right now? Makes zero sense. |

Misusing AH for 8 weeks. Running a great defense into the ground. Being praised for certain concepts that any good coordinator does nowadays? Tubby is fine when someone else is doing the motivating, like Marty. |

Despite allowing the yards, they've kept us in a lot of games. Leading the league in takeaways is hardly "running a defense into the ground." I'm not saying Haslett is great, but he's running a D that's creating lots of opportunities for the team. Wade Phillips team can't disguise a coverage to save their lives (you'd see this if you were watching any of the Cowboys game last week or tonight), and can't get anyone to play for him. He doesn't have to worry about calling the offense. That's all Garrett. He's basically a glorified D-coordinator, and he's got a group of bums throwing themselves at air out there. That's 73 points allowed now in the past 7+ quarters.... |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
Wade's D has been getting shredded all season.

Seriously. I can't even really fathom why SirClintonPortis is still trying to fight this fight. They suck something awful. They've allowed nearly 1,300 yards the past three games. |
Re: Randy Moss Waived (claimed by Titans)
The thing that Haslett has done that has impressed me the most is the adjustments he's made. We got shredded worse than the Cowboys D when we played Houston and St. Louis, and he made adjustments that have improved our defense, although not much statistically. We are still giving up yards, but we have improved our turnovers by a lot and we're not giving up as many touchdown drives, and with him mixing in 4-3 looks that's helping use our personnel to the best of their talent. The defense has improved a lot with the adjustments he's made, and we're easily better than the Cowboys D at this point.

Only a testament to how out of touch Blache was, not how great Haslett is. We changed from Swiss cheese to average. And it's not Super Bowl caliber and it won't be for at least 2 years. |
