People must realize that a very good to elite QB makes an awful offensive line look good. We need a QB, but also MS should've started to rebuild this offense from day one. He could've kept the old defense and Jason Campbell, and use every available resource to rebuild the offense period. Maybe we could have drafted our QB of the future already. I would've been fine with a mediocre season of Jason Campbell last year instead of the wasted picks on McNabb.

Right now we are not building up to anything. Maybe we have a whole bunch of young guys getting experience (Helu, Hank, Paul, Austin, etc) but we are going to have a struggling year again next season with a rookie QB.

So essentially you agree. I'm saying the QB isn't the entire offensive team. You can win games and not have a badass gunslinging QB. But you have to have the other pieces in place as well. And I'm saying we're missing the whole thing. The o-line is there, just not in terms of depth. 1 starter goes out and the whole thing starts crumbling.

And by the way... we have two receivers (Gaffney and Armstrong that had 800+ yards receiving last year) in addition to a couple of rooks who look to be getting open today.

yes, but it all starts with the quarterback. GM, coach, wide receivers, line, defense, running backs all be damned. The quarterback is where it all starts and where it ends. If you aint got one, you are NO threat in todays NFL.

For the Redskins, tis a harsh reality. But having a line and a running game does allow the quarterback that you DO have the oppurtunity to show his worth a llittle easier......but that position is number one.

QB's can't be great by themselves. If that's the case every QB in the league should be putting up stupid numbers.

But I know that Matt Freaking Moore is 16/21 for 232 and 3 TDs today for an 0-8 Dolphins team...

I never said it wasn't the biggest issue. I just said there are other issues that need to be addressed as well. o-line depth. developing the WRs, doing something about the TE position since we don't know wtf is gonna happen with Cooley after this season.

It is a huge need, but I hope you are ready for another season of mediocrity next year when we put a rook QB in. We've had two years of offensive mediocrity in order to build up the defense. Now it's going to take one or two more seasons of rebuilding the offense.

This offseason we should just cut everyone over the age of 27, use all of our draft picks, and then just sign a bunch of undrafted free agents. Id rather be young and terrible with potential then just flat out terrible.
