Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
QB is the most important position in all of sports folks

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
I'm sorry, but I could not disagree more...
I'd LOVE to see Tom Brady run Shanny's offense with what we have right now. I GUARANTEE we'd be winning this game right now. GUARANTEE.
I agree bro .Our QB is toast. If Brady or Bress was our QB we would have a much better offense. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
People must realize that a very good to elite QB makes an awful offensive line look good. We need a QB, but also MS should've started to rebuild this offense from day one. He could've kept the old defense and Jason Campbell, and use every available resource to rebuild the offense period. Maybe we could have drafted our QB of the future already. I would've been fine with a mediocre season of Jason Campbell last year instead of the wasted picks on McNabb.
Right now we are not building up to anything. Maybe we have a whole bunch of young guys getting experience (Helu, Hank, Paul, Austin, etc) but we are going to have a struggling year again next season with a rookie QB. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
never said that. but a qb does make the offense, especially in how the game is evolving into a pass first run second league. I never said a running game wasnt important, nor wrs or lineman.
So essentially you agree. I'm saying the QB isn't the entire offensive team. You can win games and not have a badass gunslinging QB. But you have to have the other pieces in place as well. And I'm saying we're missing the whole thing. The o-line is there, just not in terms of depth. 1 starter goes out and the whole thing starts crumbling. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Reggie Wayne .. ok... but Pierre Garcon from D3 Mount Olive, Austin Collie, and Gonzalez isnt exactly the Rams Fun and Gun group.
And by the way... we have two receivers (Gaffney and Armstrong that had 800+ yards receiving last year) in addition to a couple of rooks who look to be getting open today. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
I totally agree with you. QB is a glaring issue. And Beck sucks. Just saying some o-line depth would help too. Everytime TW goes down, that left side gets exposed.
Beck is garbage but again thats on MS/BA for keeping him as an option |

more than a little unnecessary. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Let me add...
I have 5 words for you... Peyton Manning and the Colts.
FAIL. Colts WR's were not that great. Peyton Manning made them great. When u can turn Austin frikkin collie and pierre garcon into viable receiving threats, that speaks LOADS to the importance of the qb. Why are you even arguing that issue? You know that comment was stupid. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
London no match for Veron davis

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
SF is winning this year bcuz of OL and RB but it won't last long in the nfl with a QB like smith

I'm not worried about it BB, all he's been doing is screaming about how Rex is better than Beck and everyone's stupid for not agreeing. He hasn't really added anything to the back and forth. |

Yea we should have kept McNabb right? |

yes, but it all starts with the quarterback. GM, coach, wide receivers, line, defense, running backs all be damned. The quarterback is where it all starts and where it ends. If you aint got one, you are NO threat in todays NFL. For the Redskins, tis a harsh reality. But having a line and a running game does allow the quarterback that you DO have the oppurtunity to show his worth a llittle easier......but that position is number one. |

Listen. I don't mean to insult u but the qb position is our biggest need by far... C'mon u have to clearly see that |

Just ride with the trash QB's we have and hope for the best folks.

Our team has no elite talent at all.
Orakpo Kerrigan Besides that anyone on our team can be replaced and I would not be upset about it. |

I never said it wasn't the biggest issue. I just said there are other issues that need to be addressed as well. o-line depth. developing the WRs, doing something about the TE position since we don't know wtf is gonna happen with Cooley after this season. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
It's hard to cheer for a team that is trying to win with such terrible qbs..
|
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
I like how Hank has been free on a couple of routes, but I'm not sure that's not because SF doesn't respect JB's (in)ability to go deep.
|
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Pretty sure Beck hasn't won a single game in the NFL. Sort of says something right there.
Way to go Shannahans. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
8 quarters with 1 FG out fu*king standing Mr. Beck

It is a huge need, but I hope you are ready for another season of mediocrity next year when we put a rook QB in. We've had two years of offensive mediocrity in order to build up the defense. Now it's going to take one or two more seasons of rebuilding the offense. |
Pretty sure Beck hasn't won a single game in the NFL. Sort of says something right there.

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
I just don't see how anyone could ever make an argument that QB isnt the NUMBER 1 thing wrong with the Redskins...
None of us have EVER SEEN an elite, top 5 QB play for our team or offense... so how can you say that it wouldnt help??? I mean, come on... |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
This offseason we should just cut everyone over the age of 27, use all of our draft picks, and then just sign a bunch of undrafted free agents. Id rather be young and terrible with potential then just flat out terrible.
|
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
This offense is worst that when Tony Banks was our QB when Marty Ball was here.
