I agree. First choice is Brandon Carr, second choice is Terrell Thomas. Finnegan is just an overhyped punk.

Looks like DeAngelo Hall is falling out of favor with not only me, but other Redskins fans too. But I don't know about Finnegan. He's good in coverage and likes to pick fights with wide receivers. He's my type of defensive player too.

I doubt that Jones is going to get both, I prefer Finnegan, that guy just has a swagger about him that the team could use, but Carr is younger

Both of these guys will be expensive. We don't need swagger, we just need good players. And right now, we need a replacement for Landry more than we need a #1 CB. Now, a team could always use a shut down corner, but I can see the Cowpukes setting the market for a #1 CB really high by overpaying one of these two guys.

If the Redskins go after a CB in free agency, I would prefer Terrell Thomas. He'd be less expensive and without Finnegan's attitude problem. Plus it'd be nice to steal him from the G-men.

Finnegan gets a bad rap, he seems like a really good dude who just plays his heart out and plays with a chip on his shoulder. He tries to get into the WR heads to have an edge and it works (Andre Johnson). Hes a hell of a player who would make are secondary much better. I also think people are forgetting that we have Raheem coaching our secondary this year. I think him alone is going to be a HUGE improvement in our coverage. Look at his teams defensive passing yards allowed other than last year, even when he wasnt a head coach. Im very excited to see him re vitalize our secondary.

On-field incidents

In September 2010, Finnegan was fined $5,000 for throwing New York Giants wide receiver Steve Smith to the ground by his helmet.[4] In October 2010, Finnegan was fined $10,000 for unnecessary roughness after hitting Denver Broncos guard Chris Kuper after Kuper's helmet was off. I guess to each their own, but I just don't like a guy that has a history of personal fouls because of fighting on the field. Especially with the heated rivalries we have here in the NFC East. You can have all the heart in the world, but if you can't keep a cool head on the field, you're going to screw up your team in key situations (a huge complain that I have of guys like Hall and to a lesser extend, Landry).

Good point, one of the things that annoyed me extremely bad was Halls ability to get all heated up and start talking smack then choking in the big moments. If Terrell Thomas is healthy he would be an awesome pick up as well. i have never seen a corner that can wrap up and tackle like that dude.

The guy can play, I've watched him with the 49ers since his rookie season. Remember the offenses they had before Harbaugh? That explains his low numbers, this kid has some great potential.

He's a bit of a known sleeper.. Had some injury questions and also QB issues his first few years but can breakout if given a chance. Good size, speed, hands combo.

If we could get all that done to our defense while retaining Fletch and then a healthy strong Jarvis Jenkins to add, are defense would be RIDICULOUS.
