Parcells was a winner, just like Joe Gibbs was a winner, but Parcells accomplished nothing in his return to the sideline with the cowboys and the only thing Joe Gibbs has done is make people shake there heads.
Talk to you at the end of the year, by then you'll be praising Gibbs.
Well, what IS a formation that a team should run from the seven yard line, and why is that necessarily better than the Jumbo?
If you plan on running it 6 times in a row from the 7 yard line, then you run a spread formation, which would not allow the eagles to stack the box and key in on Portis, they would have to play honest and it would give him more room to run the ball.
Well guess what, Mr. Hindsight. Throwing away three games that you dominated your opponent leaves you in no man's land.

Detroit is probably a playoff team this year. We are head and shoulders above them. Anyone with a pulse could tell you that.
Detroit being a playoff team is still to be seen.

For what reason are we "head and shoulders above them" last I checked that was determined by wins and losses. They have more wins than we do at this point.

Explain.

And I would absolutely love to believe that. I would love for Gibbs to turn this around and make us a team to reckon with, but I just dont see it happening.

Did you watch the game? Just checking. My four year old could answer your question.
You clearly weren't watching the game if you think the Eagles threw the kitchen sink at Campbell on 3rd and 7. I just replayed that play to be sure that I saw it correctly the first time. They in fact rushed ONLY the front four, with two LB's dropping back after faking blitz. It should not have come to that play if Cooley stays onside the play before, but still a ridiculously conservative call on third and long.
Those front four were getting through our protection. I did see the play thank you. The linebackers dropped back so there was nowhere to throw the ball to. A draw play at least gave us a chance to score and at least gave us a chip shot field goal. I will take any gain on that play rather than a sack and a loss or worse, Campbell getting hit and fumbling. It was exactly what we should've called on that play.

That's not a good idea with Portis who tends to dance.

There are pros and cons to running out of any formation and a lot of it has to do with how the D is going to play it. I don't understand why it's so black and white to you.

It's not like you can't run out of the Jumbo...that's what it is designed for.

LOL. I'm sorry. Seeing you get your panties in a bunch is so much fun.

We're all hurt by the loss. You aren't hurt more by the loss than anyone here. If you aren't going to debate reasonably, at least don't come on here with an attitude. You end up making a fool out of yourself.

While that makes me happy, it creates a lot of BS that the good posters here have to sift through. That's not fair to them.

With the way Brian Westbrook violated our D, and when Portis was gauging the Eagles run defense, I just wonder why Gibbs didn't go for it when it was fourth and inches two different times.

I think hes referring to the fact that we beat them by 31 points
You really have no idea what your talking about
Fine, you can go on believing whatever crazy theories you want to believe. Don't challenge and not expect a response though. Then you are just waisting the time of those who really want answers.

Sure. Expect to see the exact same thread next week after an a$$whipping at Dallas.

Our overall lack of balls is "ridicules." Gibbs always talks about those "momentum changing" plays. Funny how we're never the ones making them. We gotta man up once and while. The only ounce of stones I've seen all year was the on-sides kick last week.
I think hes referring to the fact that we beat them by 31 points
I know, I agreed with him on the Detroit point.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, me and Grim don't agree on very much. In fact, you could say we find each other pretty repulsive. But we are a better football team than Detroit, and we did prove that pretty convincingly on the field.
