What do people think about Bart Scott? He probably will go to a 3-4 defense, but I'm curious to know what people would think about him coming here.

Not sure he'll do as well somewhere else as he's done with the Ravens. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Anyone thinking we should sign Jacobs......the Giants just put the franchise tag on him.

First off who says we need a "speed back" yea I seen Sproles too and yea it would be nice to have "him" but Betts is no Ward and never will be. A Portis/Ward combo would knock the crap out of any defense. Wards stats Derrick Ward - New York Giants - NFL - Yahoo! Sports Betts stats Ladell Betts - Washington Redskins - NFL - Yahoo! Sports Ward put up over 1000 yards and he had to share the stage with Jacobs who only put up 60 more yards than Ward. Jacobs put up 1089 yards. Together they put up 2100 yards. If you put Portis and Ward together in 2008 with there respected yardage we would have had 2500 rushing yards. Ill take that any day. Ward also avg 5.6 YPC vs Betts 3.4 YPC No contest here my friend. FYI Ward is not my FA pick. I was just responding to 53fan post on Jacobs. But I wouldnt say no to Ward thats for sure |

Many people outside of the Redskins fandome would argue that the Skins have one of the better rushing offensive lines as well. We ourselves might not believe it, but that is what the analysts were saying when Portis was hot last year. Most of them were crediting the Oline play (before all of the injuries). I tend to agree that Derrick Ward is an upgrade over Betts. Betts is a poor man's Portis. They combine for a 1-1 punch. Portis and Ward would combine for a 1-2 punch. Nothing against Betts but he has no role unless Portis is hurt. Ward could coexist with Portis because he brings a different running style. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
I think his name has come up before, but I wonder if it would be worth looking at Stacy Andrews if he doesn't sign with Cincy. He could come fairly cheap, since he's rehabbing from an injury. However, if the team sets up a contract with incentive clauses, we may be able to snag him up. Well, unless there's a team dumb enough to sign him to a big contract. It sounds like he would be ready to go by the time training camp comes around.

Why bring another Shawn Springs. McAllister has had back-to-back season ending injuries. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Shayne Graham. Kicker for Cincinatti has been tagged.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
Id kill to get McCallister, cut Springs and his 8 million salary
as well as Smoot....McCallister can play the nickle with Hall and Rogers starting McCallister brings a real tough veteran presence and he knows how to win.... |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Why get another Springs (McCallister), and we could always go for a cheap deal for stacy andrews, especially if andrews plays G and T.

Dude, are you recycling my posts? LOL. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Robertson went from a 3-4 defense, where he wasn't a good fit to a terrible defense in Denver. I wonder if it would be worth picking him up for cheap. He's 27 yrs. old and he seems to be talented. He has had a history of injuries, but played 15 games last season. Any thoughts?
