Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
If the Skins do go for Sanchez (which I hope they do not) then it makes you wonder what and who they are going to put on the trading block etc..
Gotta love the youth and athleticism. I almost forgot what it looked like for a DE to get around the side of an OT and have the OT rotate around with him and keep him out of the play/off of the QB.
Yes sir. Please let it happen. |
Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
See this is why JLC knows so little. We wont have a third round draft choice. We will trade it along with our first round draft choice. Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
I think all this "Redskins getting Sanchez" stuff is only to fueled the skins ability to trade down. We need more picks and getting a team below us to bite on Sanchez will give us the opportunity to get what we really want. I'm hoping a trade down with Detroit for the first they got from Dallas, their second and a conditional pick. Enabling them to draft Jason Smith 1st overall, then take Sanchez with the 13th. we may only take Sanchez to trade him later for picks a-la Eli Manning.

I really hope that is the case; I truly dread the idea of drafting Sanchez.. If we draft Sanchez, we pretty much can assume that JC and Zorn are not going to come back for next year.. Therefore, our new coach would be stuck with Sanchez, the one who was not part of the part when the FO decides to draft Sanchez.. I'm pretty sure our new coach would want to draft his own QB such as McCoy or Tebow or whoever else.. That would not be pretty good scenario.. |

Yeah, JLC is blogging that the danny now is "smitten" w/Sanchez. This is unusual in that usually JLC has the scoop first. I started hearing the sanchez stuff from the warpath via Kiper. I don't recall JLC posting anything about sanchez, e.g. inside sources say Snyder & Vinny want to draft Sanchez. Regardless, Kiper & now JLC are saying Sanchez. I'm sadly inclined to defer to their professionalism (which I respect in both); there must be some truth to the Danny's desire to draft Sanchez. I'm hoping that some team in the top 10 nabs him, or that finally the FO actually fools some teams & pulls off a major trade to get more picks. |

It would be highway robbery to get picks #20 and #33 for 13, let alone a conditional pick. The bad thing about this Sanchez stuff is that absent the prospect of drafting the guy I would have been hoping he would fall to #13 so that the Redskins would be in better position to trade back. Now I have to hope that someone in the top 8 or so picks him (picks #13 and #80 take the Skins to pick #8 or #9 if they want to jump up for Sanchez). |

I haven't seen that anywhere. Second, shouldn't Mike Florio have been drawn to this like flies to sh!t? I mean he's the first one that fires off a story about a Redskins controversy. If we draft Sanchez at 13th, then you can kiss a winning season goodbye. (Because I'd imagine they would get rid of Campbell) |

Typically if he gets something its on the blog. Come to think of it, after earlier saying I had to trust his reporting, the way he stated this might mean that he's only read the same stuff as us. If he has a source he'll state it as an "unamed source" or such. As several on here have said, JLC might not have the sources inside redskins part anymore. |

On the surface I'd agree w/you, but if you really want a player, especially a QB, on draft day you've got to do whatever you can to move up. If the Skins have someone convinced that the player they want is at #13 & set the bar high for trades, then #20 & #33 for a QB isn't too much. We've seen recently that it took 2 1st rounders + for a franchise qb. I know a rookie isn't in the same boat, but if detroit likes him but doesn't want to take him at #1, trading w/us makes a lot of sense IMO, even if they give up 20 & 33. I'm totally w/you on hoping he is there at 13, but only to increase our trade potential, not for us to draft him. |
Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
JLC is worthless if you are looking for inside info about the Redskins.
He has zero access, because he works for the Post. The long running fued between Dan Snyder and the Post is still ongoing and Snyder makes sure no one in the inner circle talks with JLC. JLC is the writer of "Redskins Outsider." |

That said, now JLC is saying that "team & league sources" say we're interested in Sanchez; Redskins Insider - Skins' Interest in Sanchez Still Strong |

I pray that Sanchez is off the board before #13, or that this talk is just a smoke screen.

Toler for starters is projected as an undrafted free agent by ESPN. Sure guys get drafted later and earlier then expected but not 4 rounds early.
