SFREDSKIN: I like the way you think sir! A QB..Corner..OL..and FS if Otogwe isn't the answer. I had hope in Kareem Moore but I'm not as strong on that as I once was. |
Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed
colt's not the answer. orton would have been an upgrade for this year, but he'll never be great, so if we're drafting a QB the new guy might as well play.
still, we better get some bodies on the OL or it won't matter much. |

Landry on the other hand... swing and a miss! you either get a home run or give up a TD. mixed in with d hall and wilson's inability to cover anyone man to man, it's a bad situation. and that secondary is sucking up a lot of cash for crap performances. not good. |

I agree That Guy. The defense would be very good if the back 4 were as good as the front 7.

Dont get me wrong I think the front are good, but I think tend to think out of the starters, Rocky is the weak link. I really think if we had a better player at ILB or could clone another Fletcher, the defense would be much better. When I look at the D my first concern is run d...we've given up alot of big run plays. We need an aggressive ILB. Rocky is not a good fit for the 3-4 inside. My only other concern on the D is depth at CB and Safety. We need to cut/not bring back Philip Bucannon, The Reed, Kareem Moore(unless he suddenly "gets it" the last half of the season which is very unlikely) and Barnes. We need to find a CB who can press Wilson at starter or play the nickle. Id bring back the rook, Westbrook and add another young guy and a vet at Corner. At Safety, Id bring Gomes in as primary back up to Laron and bring in a solid veteran at Free Safety behind OJ. My concern is injury issues with the starters. I would extend LL to a good contract. |

Yeah Rocky is inconsistent and his pass coverage is not very good. I'm really hoping Riley steps up. They're not the BEST front seven but having some good corners and safeties would make them look a lot better. |

If our offense could score more points , or better yet get a lead this would improve our defense alone. |
Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed
My list of course starts with the QB as well.
Offensive line - RT,RG,C - Inside LB Corner (these two could be interchangeable, as I think Riley could play next year) Now, having said that, given where I believe we may be drafting, top 10, I am not sure that we HAVE to take a QB in the 1st round. I believe there will be some QB's in the second round that will be very good QB's in the NFL. So, once again do we trade down, pick up additional picks??? If we are in rebuild mode, and feel we can target an NFL QB in the 2nd round, then we have several options for next years draft and aquiring some talented young players. |
Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed
QB , OL , WR , NT and ILB . Having a true NT would make everyone else better ( more so if JJ comes back 100% ) . A good cover corner would do the same ( draft seems strong @ CB . Hopefully we get a 3rd rd comp pick for C. Rogers , and I hope we toast the bum today !!! Nice day for an upset ...............

These last three weeks the defense has given up long TD drives very early in the game. They can't put that on being tired or that the offense didn't score a TD its first drive. They have to be somewhat accountable for their poor starts each game |

While there are some needs on defense, I think they are completely irrelevant until the offense is fixed. In the end, whats the point of upgrading the defense if we still have a POS offense? |
Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed
The announcers said it best during the game. This offseason, the Redskins drafted mainly for defense. The defense is better than last year. This coming offseason, they must draft for offense. The must draft a quarterback or trade up to get one depending on where they finish. I've seen a few mock drafts where they have the Redskins drafting Matt Barkley of USC and Robert Griffin III of Baylor. Griffin III is definitely the better QB. They need a CB and possibly a veteran WR through free agency. And maybe one or two offensive lineman.

Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed
I would love to get Barrett Jones from Alabama. Perfect for the Redskins.

The reason why we picked D with our first two picks was not out of any sort of "plan" to pick D at all costs. The reason why was that there were a shitload of apparently good defensive prospects on the board. Also, in total, we took 7 offensive players and 6 defensive players in the draft. |
