Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
^ Very nice monkeydad
I'd like to see him wearing 2,3, 6, 12, 13 now. I'm pretty sure I'm set on him wearing 10, unless he wants to be different and wear 11 as my second choice. |
Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
I'm pretty certain RG3 will wear #10 if it's available. With rumors of a trade involving Gaffney, that number could be available.

Perhaps that was a condition of drafting RG3 lol |

I hope the Redskins front office aren't considering trading Gaffney because of some unprofessional twitter argument that he had with Lito Sheppard. From an organizational standpoint, is that regarded as unprofessional? I don't think so. It's not like he punched Mike Shanahan in the face during practice. Antonio Bryant hit Parcells and managed to remain with the Cowboys. If they just feel Gaffney is trade bait regardless of the situation, then that's fine. But to trade him away for some non football related issue is ridiculous. |
I highly doubt it's just because of Twitter beef.

What's the FO thinking behind it SS? I've read/heard the arguments Gaffney has no place in the line-up w/ Garcon, Morgan, Hankerson, Moss etc all on the roster. But the other side of it is Hank and Morgan are big ? because of their injuries and Garcon isn't much better statistically than Gaffney, except Gaffney knows our system already. Was there a conflict w/ Gaffney? |

Part of it is they don't feel he has much upside and is kind of dime a dozen, he's not going to do much more than catch the ball. Which is fine and all, but is it enough? Another part of it, supposedly, is that they also think he sulked and half-assed his routes a few times last year. I can't confirm nor particularly recollect any occasional moments when this happened. I have been hearing that they really do want to give Austin another chance and give Paul/Robinson more of a shot and they blame Keenan more for their lack of development than the players themselves The first part of it though is mainly the biggest reason |
Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
Gaffney has been trade bait for over a month now... His numbers weren't overwhelming, didn't make/gain yards after the catch, 2.65 mil salary, the signing of both Garcon and Morgan added with a healthy Hankerson, as opposed to other reasons... The twitter tirade didn't help, but the decision on Gaffney was made a few months prior... He's not the young, explosive, playmaking WR .
Read Shanahan's quote from last December... It briefly, but strongly entails what he wants in his WR's. Redskins looking for more YAC? - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN |
Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
All I can say is our FO better be right about Hank (healthy?), Morgan (healthy?) and Garcon (consistent?). Moss seems like a sure thing for 2012, and possibly even the most productive WR on our roster at season's end?
If Hank and/or Morgan are limited and Garcon (think about the contract here) is a younger, less experienced (system-wise) Gaffney I'm gonna ask for resignations :) |

If one of the younger guys pushes him, I think he could be. |
