Still sucks for his friends and family. And that poor driver that hit him. No way that doesn't stick with you for the rest of your life, even though it was no fault of his.

Poor decision making ended his life, dramatically changed someone else's, and hurt his friends/family.

The irony was that he was supposedly in Miami to practice with his teammates and get better.

And while he may have done that, it looks like that was just a nice excuse to party like an idiot down there.

All it takes is 1 stupid decision. Mixing drugs, alcohol, and driving is an easy way to get people, including yourself, killed.

+1 People are saying glad nobody else was injured - I work with a lot of drivers and I'd put serious money on that driver being seriously scarred. When your life involves driving all day for a living and you hit a guy who walked out into the middle of the road while you were on the job it can fuck you up pretty bad.

His death should be a cautionary tale. You nailed it.

I did my own research and figured out what happened that night.
first:
There is a history of domestic violence (Wife to DH) and a history of DH putting his dick in things he shouldn't.
Also, his family is on his ass like leaches. They need him to have Pat Mahomes success so they can live the dream.

Mrs DH said she was on the phone with him then it hung up. She called repeatedly but never could reach him after that.

Here is what happened that night:
DH was at the club flexing his backup QB money and finger blasting some strippers.

On his way home, Mrs. DH calls incessantly but DH ignores the call because he has a fine ass stripper in the car he's about to rail at the hotel. DH has to take the call but if you know strippers like I know strippers they are some loud ass motherfuckers. No way he can take the call in the car. He pulls over and calls his wife.
Unfortunately, DH's phone is still connected via bluetooth and is connected to the cars speakers.

The Call:
Mrs: "Dwayne[Insert middle name] Haskins the 3rd??????????"
Stripper: "No bitch this is Shakira the cuban(it's florida...) stripper that your man just got pregnant in VIP. I got that baby before you! You need to back off bitch"
Mrs: "I will kill you"
DH turns off bluetooth
DH: "Oh there you are baby, my phone is acting up"
Mrs: "Who was that on the phone?"
DH: "What?"
Mrs: "Shakira, Shakira?"
DH: "What?"
Mrs: "I'm going to take all your money and tell Coach Tomlin you beat me. You're career is over"
DH: "What?"

That's when DH sees a way out of this mess.
