from what I've read, Brown is looking for a big contract. Not that the Redskins couldn't come up with a deal, but if they were able to sign him to a sizeable contract, how would that affect (if at all) Cousins' deal?
i heard he is asking for 6mil , if that,s the case please sign him

no we need lots more D linemen but i would still draft a backer later on
I think a Dlineman is key. But I cant go a week without hearing Anthony Lanier's name as someone we are really high on who we are expecting to take the "next step" and will get more opportunity the coming season. Seems like Keim and Gruden are always name dropping him.

I expect us to go Nosetackle...but where, I have no clue.

I think if we got Brown, I'd be willing to look into trading back and then picking up DTs. SOMEONE would want Foster if he fell.

Absolutely. The word "Carnage" comes to mind when I think of having two ILB's of that caliber manning the middle. We can still get good DLmen in the 2nd round on. Counting what we have on the outside already, that would be one hell of a group of LBers. I'm stoked just thinking about it. Damn. If Gallette came back strong too? A man can dream can't he? I'd also like to see P. Smith playing on the line more. Sounds vicious to me MC.

i like it. i really hope gallette can make it back.

i saw saban come out and defend foster's character/demeanor after seeing some criticism from scouts. are there any other red flags on foster?

I know it's pure gravy, but I'm also on the Galette-train. Maybe we only get him for one season, but I DO think he comes back and makes a difference.

Imagine: Kerrigan R. Foster Brown Gallette and then Swearinger and Cravens. Good luck going across the middle, Witten. That would be like running through a gauntlet of Dobermans wearing a meat sweater.

The concerning criticism Ive heard with Foster was doing X and Os in coaches/Team meeting, he had a hard time explaining concepts and assignments. Lil bit of a red flag imo, but not enough he should fall.

On the other hand, we have Wil Compton who can explain assignments, line calls, and concepts but cant actually play at a high level. Ill take the former.

Lmao! Exactly! And Murphy took a step up last year and if you had P. Smith lining up at different spots? That " Meat Sweater" would look like prime rib to a pack of starving wolves. I think the new DL and Secondary coaches are going to make a difference too and Manusky will run a more aggressive defense.

With Cousins' tag, and the draft pool hit, we still have around 10M of cap space. I guess that's enough to sign Zach Brown and keep some cap space for next year.

If we sign KC long term we should save some cap space and can sign Brown without any worries.

Nice signing...building up the middle of the defense. What Ive been screaming for the last 2 years.

Wonder if Mason Foster slides into Wil's spot to call defenses and have Zach Brown and his band line up on the other?

You do have to question though.....is this the plan that McScotty was going for, or was this somebody else's idea? I have to say, I have not been disappointed with our offseason signings (with the exception of not getting a contract to Cousins yet.)

I'm sure CBS and the Washington Post will have something negative to say about this though.

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings

Getting stronger up the middle. Brown, Swearinger, two DTs. Strong moves.

People are fretting over whether we'll have a good "QB of the defense" in there, because supposedly Compton was good at it. We had a terrible D last year with Compton in there, so I'm not sure we're losing all that much. Somehow the secondary never seemed to know what was going on.

This signing puts us in great position for the draft. We can go BPA all the way and load up with talent.

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings

I assume he's probably better than anyone we currently have, which may not be saying too much. He's now been let go by two teams and the Bills seemingly made no attempt to sign him. Perhaps they feel he doesn't fit into their new 4-3 scheme. But this seems like a pretty good signing.

I do like what we're doing in FA. No big stupid signings, just some solid need pickups that can hopefully pan out.

Precisely...this is how it's supposed to work. I'd still prefer a true NT type in the draft, but I don't think there's any need to reach for one. We need a space eater to help free up our ILB's and several can fit that bill.

Getting stronger in the middle...wow, just what the Dr. ordered!

I really like the focus we've given the defense this year.

More than usual good NT prospects:

Caleb Brantley, Florida
Eddie Vanderdoes, UCLA
Dalvin Tomlinson, Alabama
Vincent Taylor, OK State
Larry Ogunjobi, Charlotte
Carlos Watkins, Clemson
Nazair Jones, UNC

I think we have addressed a lot of needs in free agency, time to go best player available in the draft. Cook RB, Foster ILB, top CB, fuck it, we are good.

Hold on, April 27?

What that fuck? Why in the fucking shit is the draft all the way at the end of April? Goodell did this shit. What are we waiting for? Muthr fuck a duck. This is such bullshit...

I will be attending the draft this year. I'm heading home from malaysia in a week to South Kersey so we are going... A browns fan, a cheifs fan, a few Sheagles fans and myself. Will be a good time but yes it gets seemingly later every year. And one round per opening day is bothersome.

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings

Love the moves, the deal was only $4.6 million - sounds reasonable..

Seems like the philosophy is to sign young FA in their prime, which is great -- but we all have to remember our lack of success in FA in years past.... Hoping we combine this with good drafting so we can sustain this into the future. Free agents are always overpriced / aging / less motivated than young drafted talent..

Hoping for big years from Bree / Fuller, and our pass D looks much better..

I'd say we still need at least one playmaker at DL. We have some depth but no playmaker.

Baker is just average IMO, and he was our best DL, and from what I got McClain and McGee aren't that big of an improvement.

So I'm fine with drafting BPA as long as we end up drafting 2 DLs ^^
