Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Went and saw Joker last night. I don't need to sell anyone on it, go see it. Super chilling performance by Joaquin Phoenix.

I think Im going to see it tonight. I heard its good but can get grating to watch like Reqiuem for a Dream was. Hereditary - scary movie, more thriller then pop out gory but ti has its pop out moments. Give it like a 8/10. Plot was somewhat unique. edit - Jojo Rabbit looks real good ... indie black comedy it appears to be. |

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
The Irishman delivers. And of course Scorsese is 110% right about comic book movies...they are trash and it’s not filmmaking.

Re: Getting ready for an awesome year of movies
I saw the Irishman a few weeks ago in the theater, great movie but I thought the last half hour or so dragged on a bit

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Knives Out - really good but not near the 98% or whatever it has on Rotten Tomatoes.

man I thought Joe Peci stole the movie. IMO Paciano isn't Jimmy Hoffa, they should have looked at Michael Shannon but I think he was probably way too tall. |

I know this will sound funny but I know people through the Locals I worked for (both Teamsters) that knew Hoffa and they say that Al was a better Hoffa than Jack was but they say that he was pretty close to the way Al portrayed him ,I wouldn't know and these guys are old as dirt so who knows if they remember him right or not. Still thought it was a great movie. |

How did Pacino play Hoffa? As a hard ass Teamster willing to bust heads and kill and bribe his way to the top? Is it worth seeing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/quote] This is a different movie then Nicholson's Hoffa ,that was more what the public saw this was more of what was going on in the background. This is a great movie at least I thought so, but long. |
Re: Merged: The Movies Thread
Four Christmas - i knew going in it wasnt a good movie but me and the lady wanted to watch some sappy rom com holiday comedy .. turned it off after 30 mins. Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon just mailed it in and you could tell. Apparently they hated each other shooting it, you could tell.
Simple Favor - was good, give it a 4/5 or so. Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively were good, I wouldnt pick it if it was just me watching but was a good couples movie. |
