Well this link has been posted a few times before but...doesn't seem to be complaining much here about the coaches or the Skins
I like your writing Rainy, but voluntary mod camp ended for me yesterday (thank you very much Dreamseatfan!), so it's time to re-inforce this rule
http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-l...-bloggers.html (Attention bloggers) Thread locked
I only have one question, if our Franchise Mod can come back in top form after not doing much of anything during the voluntary mod camp, why can't AH? |

Haslett's thoughts on the Redskins using the 3-4 4-3. •Why Haslett thinks the 3-4 defense will benefit the Redskins: "Just the unknown of where you’re coming from, who’s blitzing, who’s not blitzing. You can just do so many things out of it that you can’t do out of a four-man line. Now, if you got great four-man line people, then you play that." He adds, "There’s no reason you can’t go 3-4, 4-3. I’ve played in both, coached in both, been successful in both. I think its just the type of players you have. I think the cornerstone of the team on defense is Brian Orakpo. He had 11 sacks last year, rushed 200 some times. In this defense, we’ll rush 600-700 times."" |

We'd like to see Albert refute some of the things being said that are not true. There's an old saying 'silence gives consent" if he never says anything, he leaves people with the impression that what they're saying is true. |

Re: Haynesworth is Behaving Selfishly
My guess is that AH has not "cleared the air" because he doesn't give a flying fork about what you, I, or talking heads on NFLN think. Nor should he. We're the ones who are making mountains out of molehills.
I don't want to speculate on his motives, but I wouldn't go as far to say he dosen't care. He does care, and there still may come a time before this is all said and done that he will take the time to clear the air. Contrary to some opinions, Haynesworth has many supporters here in the Washington area, not so much among the fair-weather crowd, but the longtime fans here have always had a way of supporting their players. He'll always have his detractors, but for the most part fans here want to see him be a success story. |

how would AH saying, "those rumors are completely false. I'm happy to be here and excited about 2010..." give credence to whats been said? to the contrary, it would make the ones publishing the rumors look like morons and make them think twice before using reporting something similar again. The "detractors" are just upset that not only does he not appear to want to do everything it takes to be successful here, but some of his actions/inactions/comments border on insubordination. We "detractors" are loyal to the team, not the player. If the player appears to be rebelling against the team, we're not going to ignore it or pretend everything is rosey. |

From SmootSmack's article:
That’s what I’m going after, being the best defensive tackle in the NFL.” ... Haynesworth shared his thoughts on his new coach and how he believes he is in for a very exciting time. “I think it’s going to be exciting. He’s a very experienced coach, he knows how to win and he knows how to build a team. I’m excited about it. I’m glad he’s our coach. He was definitely the best one out there. I’m just ready to get back to work and see what he brings to the table.” ... “At first I was a little iffy to it because I’ve never played in the 3-4. I don’t have a clue to how it’s really played. But then I talked to him a little bit and he plans on just playing me in the middle a little bit and at end. I guess I’ll just move around and just wreak havoc; so as long as we’re doing that and I’m not just at one position, I’m fine, I’m fine with it.”
So on April 9th it was reported that he said nearly exactly what you wanted to hear. So will you support him now? |
Re: Haynesworth is Behaving Selfishly
See Cooley agrees with me. I think he even tried to slide in Firstdown but the writer edited that part
From SmootSmack's article:
So on April 9th it was reported that he said nearly exactly what you wanted to hear. So will you support him now?
Not at all. A LOT has happened since then, the vast majority of which including his actions (and lack thereof) flatly contradicts those that one would expect from someone who was truly and genuinely "excited" about playing NT and DE in the 3-4. If Haynesworth made those same comments now, after showing up for minicamp, after supporting his teammates and coaches,THEN I would support him. If/When he actually shows up, i will support him. If/When he plays for the redskins in 2010, plays his guts out and does everything he's asked, I will support him. But i'm not going to "support" him as he alienates himself from his coaches and teammates. |
Re: Haynesworth is Behaving Selfishly
A lot has happened since then?
He's skipped voluntary camps, as expected. The only thing that's happened is the media has blown this back up into a story again. |
