The NFL Draft Overview on Dalton:
Dalton is four-year starter and proven winner, but he will have a difficult transition to the NFL. He is undersized and will not be able to take off and run at the next level. He is generally an accurate passer, however he will make some poor throws when his mechanics break down. Also, he plays in a very user friendly scheme where he throws to a lot of wide open receivers and it is unclear if he can fit the ball into tight windows. Dalton will need some time to learn a more complicated offense and he looks to be a mid-round pick. Cmpare to the overall general consensus of the other QB's expecting to be considered in this years draft. NFL.com news: After Newton, there's little consensus on QB draft class
The NFL Draft Overview on Kaepernick: Kaepernick is a four-year starter and proven winner, and he will not have a difficult transition to the NFL. He has prototypical quarterback size at 6'6" and can take off and run at the next level. He is generally an accurate passer, however his windup is a bit long but he still gets the ball out extremely quick and has a howitzer for an arm. Kaepernick has undergone tests to prove he has tiger blood and all he knows is winning. He was recently quoted as saying. "You can't process me with a normal brain. Most of the time-and this includes naps-I'm an F-18, bro, and I will destroy you in the air and deploy my ordnance to the ground. Boom! WINNING!!!" Kaepernick will fit into any system already conceived in the NFL and is projected to break every quarterback record that exists as a first year starter. Any team who does not do anything short of prison shanking another team to force a trade to the #1 overall pick to draft Kaepernick are losers. Compare to the overall general consensus of the other QB's expecting to be considered in this years draft. Re: 2011 NFL Mock Draft thread.
Ponder is very consistent everywhere. i think thats why he will be the best. and on another note if prince amukamara is at ten do we take him? i think so
|
Re: 2011 NFL Mock Draft thread.
^ I'd take prince at 10 or Julio only if We can't trade down
|
Re: 2011 NFL Mock Draft thread.
yea idk about julio though idk. we have had bad luck with recievers. he will probably good
|
Re: 2011 NFL Mock Draft thread.
I'm skeptical on WRs also trust me, but if he's there at 10 and we cant trade down I wouldn't mind having him
|
Re: 2011 NFL Mock Draft thread.
If we can't trade back i say take Aldon Smith.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Mock Draft thread.
i agree aldon smith i think is a great compliment to Orakapo. better than Quinn because of his athleticism

Re: 2011 NFL Mock Draft thread.
Well this is interesting. I thought the Panthers would take Gabbert, though others think Newton which is very possible too, and have both Gabbert/Newton and Clausen as their QBs of the future, which is smart in my opinion.
Apparently though, we've had serious discussions with the Panthers talking about sending Haynesworth, our 2nd, and Fred Davis for Jimmy Clausen! Obviously nothing can happen right now without a CBA but I have really mixed feelings on this. Clausen's fine, but I need to get some draft pick back in return. Even if it's their 3rd round pick. Interesting to note Snyder really wanted Clausen last year. Gotta wonder if he's not influencing this somehow. He's been pretty upset with Shanahan with how the whole McNabb situation was handled. He might be thinking "I let you get your guy last year, this year we're doing it my way"
I know it was just speculating but the last part about Snyder being involved is the worst part of this. We are in deep trouble if he is already interfering again. I can't see it though, Shanny thinks he's the smartest guy in any room he's in. Can't see any circumstance where he allows his owner to make any decision let alone the starting QB. As for the rumor itself...i think we all agree the compensation is rediculous. He was a #2 last year and if anything he's lost value. I would trade AH or Davis for him if Shanny & Allen really like him but all that for him is absurd. Vinny is no longer negotiating our trades... |
Re: 2011 NFL Mock Draft thread.
Another one falls for it. :)
