yessir. he'd be a great pickup |
Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
Healthy he's a top 3 SS, possibly the best in the league. The problem is, whatever supps he's taking, his lower body is breaking down. We all saw this same thing with David Boston, body builder upper body, track star legs equal disaster.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
It would be a mistake to re-sign him unless he has surgery. He's been advised by his doctors to get his achilles surgically repaired and he won't do it; therefore, it won't hold up.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
I hate how he won't get surgery. I wouldn't even give him a one year deal. Go after Branch or draft someone else.

Proof? I disagree with his decision not to have surgery, but I haven't heard anywhere that surgery is recommended. If that is the case and Landry still isn't having it, then I hope the grass is greener for him elsewhere, because I wouldn't put up with him another year. |

At least one Dr. has recommended surgery LaRon Landry’s future hinges on alternative medicine procedure - The Insider - The Washington Post |

I'd be comfortable giving him a one year deal (not big money though) and seeing what happens but if he's injured again this season then let him walk. |
Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
why is landry getting such grief? its his body and his NFL career. he is pursuing the options that he feels are best for him and his career.

Re: Laron Landry - Redskin for life?
I believe surgery was recommended last year even.
More and more Landry appears to be a head case...obviously not in the "typical" thug way or narcissism ala TO for example. I suspect he's borderline in terms of IQ/mental handicap. Landry's utterly child-like behavior both on and off field, inability to learn even the most fundamental skills like tackling or taking the correct angle on a play, and his absurd fear of surgery are beyond unusual. I doubt he'll be in the league by 2013. |

Yes, it is his body and his career. And if he doesn't do what it takes to keep his body in optimal playing shape, he is free to pursue his career elsewhere. |

Well, when one of the best doctors in the world (in this area) is giving you advice, it's probably best you take it. This makes 2 years in a row he's disregarded the advice, with last year failing with the route he decided to go. |

you are assuming you know whats best for his body. unless youre a doctor and have worked with landry, you dont know what youre talking about. unless landry is allergic to money, i think its safe to assume that landry IS doing what he and his doctors have told him is best for his body and career. |

What exactly makes you feel comfortable with a one year deal? How would next season be any different for him than last season if he doesn't get his achilles repaired? I don't see how he could possibly get 100% healthy for next season by having a shaman wave a chicken feather over his heel. If we sign him instead of another starting calibre SS then I fear that we'll end up with a backup playing SS for most of the season. |
