We only produce QB pressure when we bring it from odd players/angles and that can only work every now and then. And we simply don't cover well to get much in the way of coverage sacks or pressure enough to hide our lack of coverage. Its the chicken or the egg. We need just one person on that line to start winning battles more consistently. That would tighten the D up enough to really give us a shot to do something here.
I thought it was ridiculous that a blatant hold on Kerrigan was highlighted by the MNF crew. Like WTF?! |
Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
For those complaining about the red zone screens. The first was an ok call but the Giants had it defended out of the box. It wasn't a "bad" call. A decent call at the wrong time. The ensuing WR screen did seem odd but it would have worked if it had been executed better in terms of blocking. I think it was Paulsen who whiffed on blocking the slot guy who essentially held the play up long enough for the DL to pursue and kill it. I'd contend it was a good call that didn't get executed.

If its called at the wrong time doesn't that make it a bad call? |

I had to trun the volume down on my TV a few times when the skins fans started going off. I may have a blown speaker and the neighbors may have called the cops.

I just think that was the perfect example of Kyle tying trying to outsmart himself. How about pump faking the wr screen to get the safties to move and then throw over the middle to the TE. Now that would've been the perfect play call! :woot: |

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
That wishbone pitch to Moss followed by the WR screen made me wonder what the eff was Kyle Shanahan trying to do? You not going to run those plays on the Giants defense with success. Maybe the WR screen if it's set up properly with the right play calls. But that was a wasted drive.

Agreed. I am very worried about him getting snagged for a HC position somewhere in the off season. We shall see. Side note: I went to the game last night and I was so irritated by how long it took to "automatically review" turnovers and scoring plays. I wish that they had someone upstairs automatically reviewing these so they don't have to make a dramatic 10 minute confirmation bs. I know networks probably are cashing in at every opportunity to go to a tv timeout- but it really affected the flow of the game. |

Also, I love Kai Forbath.
