True, but it's insulting when assholes like that try to blow smoke up our ass as if he's some sort of man with morals and integrity who wouldn't ditch the school if a dream opportunity came along. Fact is, he will (or would). |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
I hope we retain everyone at this point - front office and coaching staff. I'm even inclined to keep haz just to see what he can do with a healthy front seven and a revamped secondary
Look, there are ways to approach it without lying your ass off. Take Chip Kelly for instance and listen to what he said.
Chip Kelly set to meet with Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles - ESPN Fact is, if you are listening or interviewing with a NFL team, it means you are interested. No need for the bullcrap lying about how you have no intentions of deserting them after one year, but still go on interviews. Nobody believes him. As far as your comment about the report not being accurate? Notice he didn't deny interviewing with them either.
No offense dude, but this is a pretty naive way of thinking. Coaches are like politicians, they are not going to tell the truth, they do what some folks call coach speak. If you expect that, you are living in fantasy land. In the real non-football world, some people may have no intentions of leaving a job and interview just to see how they would fare or if they are still marketable. |

First of all, what makes him an asshole? Secondly, he doesn't give a flying **** about you nor should he. So why do you think he's lying to you? Seriously man, I don't know why you get so worked up over it |

Seriously man, I don't know why you get so worked up over it
I'm not worked up over it, just can't stand bullshit artists. Probably why I have such disdain for politicians. Also, I never said he was lying to me directly. He is though lying to the public, his employer, his team, the fans, and future recruits. What makes him a asshole? The fact he's lying his ass off instead of simply saying ...."Hey, I met with them to hear them out, but I'm not interested". No need to start blowing smoke up people's ass about how righteous you are and how you would never ditch a program after one year. Spare me. I guess asking for honesty, outside of game matters, is a bit much these days. Monkey see, monkey do. |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Ian rapoport says that chip Kelly is close to a deal with the browns. I'm significant more comfortable with him in the afc than with the eagles.

it's like lou holtz said "if you can fit an onion inside of the cornish game hen, then by all means - but if you can only fit a clove of garlic, well, then do that too."

I understand this, but I hate politician's that do this crap as well. Probably why I'm blasting this guy the way I am. There is a difference between coach speak and what going on here. I realize he can't come out and call a player he's benching a scrub. I get that. There is no need for coach speak with a interview. Why? I think most people can understand a man wanting to explore any opportunities out there whether that advancement benefits you or not. meh.....I've said my piece on the dude. Moving on.... |

Is Kelly to Cleveland official?
|
Bold move by Kelly, Cleveland typically is a horrible start to a coaching career. Honestly I would have stayed at Oregon until Dallas job came open. Just MO anyway
|
Probably means Weeden won't be around much longer. He doesn't fit what type of offense he would like to run.

Weeden was a bad pick IMO anyway. He was good at OSU because he had dez Bryant and Justin blackmon |

He was a bad pick for the slot. They could have waited till the 2nd and picked him up. Holmgren was desperate after losing out on the RGIII sweepstakes. |

Cleveland like KC has a lot of young talent in place, a few more pieces and they are ready to contend. Reid and Kelly aren't dumb. |
