Discombobulated, even.

We signed a new starter at LG, moved Lichensteiger to C, tried to sign Bruce Campbell but didn't after he failed the physical, and hosted several other Free Agent O-linemen. We didn't just sign Lavuao and say, "Okay, we're done with the O-line now! Next!" Also, don't forget that we have several young O-linemen on the roster who got very little playing time under Shanahan: Gettis, Compton, and LeRibeus. So to me, it seems like our FO is trying to address the position through Free Agency and developing the talent already on the roster, rather than drafting a bunch of OL and forcing the young undeveloped talent out.

Edit: And an obvious point that I didn't include, but decided to after all. Free Agency isn't over yet; there's still plenty of time and FAs left to improve the line.

I hear the phrase "develop the talent" all the time, this assumes that late round draft choices are talented. LeRibius was a mid round pick who was not rated highly by many, if any other team.

True. At the same time, you don't know how talented a player is until you give him a chance to play and get better.

The Redskins draft last year graded poorly because we didn't draft enough front seven and OL and the same exact thing applies to this draft. You need a stable of big bodies to do well in this league and now that we have a QB everything else is optional until these areas are replete with talent young and old. Sorry our holdover bottom tier depth players at those spots need to beat out better competition to warrant consideration. If we draft a bunch of secondary and skill position players again we'll be sorry. But you guys will eat it up because we're plugging holes again.

the coaches watch them practice, and should know if they can play. If you give them a chance to play and get better, they could get RG3 killed. There are exhibition games for them to get better.

Jordan Matthews has topped my list as of now as the top prospect I want at 34.

Why Matthews rather than one of the other WR folks?

I agree if we go WR we should take Jordan Matthews. Was listeing to an interview he did on NFL radio made me say this young man understands what it takes studies lots of film on his own & with the QB'S. Go on you tube watch his highlights. Ideally trade back and still take him.

LOL:

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer emerged from Johnny Manziel's Pro Day unimpressed, calling the choreographed workout with rap music, "a sideshow."

We love Zimmer because he's never afraid to voice his opinions. (It's also why he struggled to land head-coaching jobs for so long.) "The huddles and the different things and the music. The sideshow stuff," Zimmer said. "It was a sideshow. This one was a little different in how it was choreographed. People like that or they don’t like that, I don’t know." We probably won't be sending Manziel to the Vikings in our April mock drafts.

from rotoworld.

If you want Matthews in the 2nd, you trade back. There will be much better prospects available at #34.

I would like to see WR, RT and a true FS with our first three picks, and by WR I am thinking someone big who could play the Y spot with Roberts in the slot once the guy is good enough to play in the nfl. In any order btw.

If Hank could ever stay healthy he could be one, but that's asking alot.

Or if you want Matthews in the 2nd, you take him. Don't risk him being taken if that is who you want. Better 20 picks too early than 1 pick too late.
