Whoa kinda big especially since reed is already out for tonight, sound like gruden believe Paulsen will be out for sometime, surgery or not. Not picking up a te in the draft or free agency could bit us. |
Re: All things Redskins training camp
JG stated that Paul will get some reps but the majority will go to some of the recent acquisitions ala "Ham" (related to Pot Roast) and the other couple guys....

Man, I just love this guy. He does so much the right way for no other reason than because it is the right way. I know, as a RB, he's not on an elite level, but he is still a very, very good running back. He's not quite a 3-downer, but he isn't just/I] a two down back either. With Matt "the Truck" Jones behind him, he will probably see a reduction in carries this year, and they certainly aren't going to break the bank for him next year on a new contract. Still, I hope we find a way to keep him. He's old school good both on and off the field. He may never make it to the ROF, but I really, really would like him to play his entire career here if possible. Probably not gonna happen, but I can hope. Right now, pretty much the only Skins' jersey I would consider outside of Kerrigan. |
Re: All things Redskins training camp
So I feel the need to address the elephant in the room...griffin is now stating to the media he thinks he's the best qb in the nfl. I get what he says about competing.....but these are the types of comments he needs to not be saying to the media. Egh. Double Egh.

Re: All things Redskins training camp
got a link? Not that I doubt it, I just would like to see the context. Many times, he words sound one way when quoted out of context, but when seen in the light of the entire conversation take on a slightly different meaning then being attributed.
He's a young, confident guy who has worked very hard to be where he is and has had success everywhere he went ... until 2013. While he's young and cocky, he's also a generally good guy. I think he often just doesn't realize how his words sound to others. Not gonna crucify him for that. God knows at 25, I said some really stupid stuff that I meant one way but sounded completely different to everyone else ... and I wasn't rich, famous, and having my every pubic statement scrutinized. |
Re: All things Redskins training camp
Okay, so here's the quote:
"I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that," he told the station. "Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they're not a top competitor, they're not trying to be the best that they can be. "There's guys in this league that have done way more than me. But I still view myself as the best because that's what I work toward every single day."
Robert Griffin III of Washington Redskins feels like he is best quarterback in NFL - ESPN He's simply saying "I believe I have the ability to be the best, but, if I want anyone else to believe that I have to work like the best every day." Tomorrow, even though he is in no way saying he is the objectively best QB in the league, I bet there will be some headline somewhere "RGII thinks he's better than Manning, Brady & Rogers" or some such nonsense. Again, he almost said it perfectly fine: "I believe I have the ability to be the best, but I am not now. I want to be the best so I will hard towards that every single day, b/c if you don't aspire to be the best and work harder than those who ARE the best, you can never be anything but something less than the best." |
Re: All things Redskins training camp
Not a big deal, but the people that hang on his every word will of course go crazy.

Re: All things Redskins training camp
Cooley just laid out an offer the team can't refuse on the radio. Have to wait for the audio vault to link.
He is basically willing to waive every right as a vested player including injury pay, and play for the league minimum, and host TE develpmental meetings at his home. What is the down side? |
Re: All things Redskins training camp
Whew…I don't know about you guys but I feel a lot better about this team when I heard we had the best QB in the league…serious?? Do you think for one minute that Aaron Rogers,Brady,Wilson,Luck,Manning would ever say anything like that..This is what kills me about RGIII ..he needs to stop talking period and let his play speak for him!! heck The jury is still out about if he is the best QB on the team..I know you guys will say he really did not mean it that way..well of course he did or why would he even go there..all it does is add more pressure on him as well as other teams going after him..how many players around the league are laughing at him behind closed doors..I will be glad when the Redskins move on from the RGIII mess..I say KC is the starter by 5th game of season if not before.

What is the down side?
I have to say, a part of me is tempted by this. I loved Cooley as a player. Problem was, by the end he was slower than molasses. I just cannot imagine he'd be able to make any contributions beyond that of veteran leadership and some coaching (which means, get into coaching, dude). Regardless, I think if he offered to pay the Redskins for the chance to play (and he might), Scot isn't going there. |

What is the down side?
I wonder the same thing. I know Cooley isn't going to be top 10 - maybe not even top 20 - but i think he could still be a contributor to this team. He comes at no risk, and now that he wants to waive basically all of his rights just to play - it seems like they'd be able to find something he could do. I'm baffled they at least didn't work Cooley out..... |
