The coach should be able to challenge any action on the field. Call or Non-Call. You still only get 3, and in the final 2 minutes upstairs should have the ability to correct blatant errors.
This wouldn't prolong the game, most coaches are going to save their challenges, not waste them, but why should one play be more protected than another. Answer is they shouldn't be.
I agree with this. |
I like the current method. TD or defensive score wins the game, if you score 3 points the other team gets a chance. Still wayyyyyyyyy better than the old system.
Going against the grain here, but I'm fine with the current rules. The first team who gets the ball has to play the situation straight in that they can't automatically go for it on 4th down every time. If the team losing the coin flip automatically gets a possession, then they will have a huge advantage in that they can call plays knowing they will be going for it on 4th down every time. It's definitely not ideal, but it's way better than it was. Adopting the college overtime rules would be a disaster. It's one of the worst things about college football. |
Re: NFL conference championship weekend
Do OT exactly like college, and anything should be reviewable. Enough with a coin toss deciding shit.

Do you really want to see a game end 65-62? I don't |

In all fairness, a coin toss didn't decide anything. Although, an actual coin toss to decide who wins an overtime game (like actually decide) would be pretty interesting. |
Re: NFL conference championship weekend
This OT stuff is out of hand, the only reason people want a change is because NE won, if KC had won the game after getting the ball first this much would not be said.
The Saints got the ball first and the Rams stepped up and stopped them, it's football. The league already changed the rule to scoring a TD first wins the game.. Stop trying to change the rules every damn season, so what is next? Teams have to score twice to win? |

NFL conference championship weekend

It is stupid. College OT rules are fair. That is how it should be done imo. Edit: this has nothing to do with the Pats. Ive wanted the college OT since college started it. Leave nothing on the table. |

I don't
How many games go into OT? Not like it happens all the time. If it does though than im all for it. Imagine if in tennis they did a coin flip to see who served for the win? Remember you have to start going for 2 also. You could even eliminate extra points entirely. Would shorten it somewhat. |

I still stand by this, play a five minute OT like normal football until there's a winner. I don't think games would end up like college football when you're not starting on the twenty five (thirty five?) yard line. |
I'm rooting for NE only because if they win they will have more SBs than Dallas, that would put Dallas tied for 3rd most, sounds better than 2nd most.
Sounds to me that you root more for a team to lose, than for your team to win. You're a strange human..... I can't help but to keep thinking that just a few short years ago, Washington had not one of the best, but.... THE best young stud head coaches in their organization and let him walk..... So I guess I am a strange human too.... |

Re: NFL conference championship weekend
KC should have a chance to get the ball once I feel. But they did have a chance to stop the Pats and they couldn't.
One minute the Pats can spread you out and be a pass happy team, and then the next go back to an I formation ( WITH A FULLBACK GRUDEN, YOU DUMMY) roll up their sleeves and run it right down your throat. In that aspect they remind me of how things use to be around here. |
Re: NFL conference championship weekend
It sounds like people just want a skills competition between Brady and Mahomes instead of a football game.
The Chiefs D gave up 3 TDs to the Patriots in the final 3 drives. Do we really need to see more of that? |
