OK in layman terms if you work in finance and don't know where cell A1 is in excel it be like being an auto mechanic and not knowing a philips head from a flat head.

If you own an insurance company I would think you have some working knowledge of excel; apparently not kind of scary.

My office couldn't survive without Excel. The amount of spreadsheets I work with on a daily basis is amazing.

Congrats! Welcome to the world of more responsibility, more grief, and hopefully some more $$ in your pocket if you're lucky! :)

Insurance company not using excel? Very ineffective.

Firstdown just uses graph paper and a pencil. He can draw a hell of a bar graph you should see it!

He can even do Pivot Charts on graph paper!

I'd be so screwed without excel. I use about 10 different spreadsheets on a daily basis at work. Inventory, purchases, sales, costs, etc etc etc. My restaurant would be in deep doo-doo if you pulled excel out from under us.

You can't be Excellent with Excel....<<crickets>>

Seriously though, I use Excel all the time. Although I have been trying to make a push for us to use Access more frequently in certain cases

Unless you are using a obscene amount of data Excel would be the better choice especially if you utilize pivot charts/tables.

Well, like I said "certain cases" and those cases would be obscene amounts of data
