The first ones funny cause you can tell its a very big bodied guy with rg3s face on it haha |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I agree.
for 3 first rounders and a 2nd...do you think we could have gotten Drew Breese?..or any pro bowl QB out there?....I say ....possibly. This guy is an unknown commodity...and yes...the skins paid way too much...I am bummed, but at least I am hopeful
Yeah, though Drew Brees' franchise tag is exclusive specifically so we couldn't have signed him for less than it cost to get RG3. The list of QBs you couldn't have got for this price is Andrew Luck, Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Philip Rivers and maybe Eli? You probably could have gotten Matthew Stafford for this price. I think at least. |
Now that it's official Robert Griffin III will be a Redskin, I'm very elated. I feel a since of satisfaction and I doubt seriously if RG3 will bust. He could make the pro bowl in his rookie season. But it's important that there's not an enormous amount of pressure on him. I just want to see him succeed.
But that's what seems to make him stand out from the rest- is him appearing to have the maturity to be able to handle that pressure, being a hardworker, and also a student of the game. That's what the qb busts didn't have even though they had all the talent in the world. |
One thing this deal does for us, getting it done now, is give us some leverage with courting potential free agents, especially a big time receiver.
Gotta figure out how to shore up the D and the O-line as well...not going to be easy. But hey, chances are RG3 will be a good one for some time, but dang...can't get over the price. Hopefully this time next year I will be over it :)
This is exactly what i like about the deal, no ones lining up to play with Rex |

I know it's been posted before... but it is now time for it officially...

I'd like to know RGIII's thoughts currently.....

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
True, but we may have missed out on a great QB if we didn't make the trade. Ya never know........
Well, all great QBs are prospects first.
I was just saying that RG3 isn't going to carry the team and make everyone else better first year out of college. He might be better than expected in year one. He actually probably will be. But we're still not a great team yet. And this definitely hurts the ability for us to draft a great team. We can try to sign a team still. Lots of talent out there. But it's been mixed results in the past. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
We will have a made in Japan QB, RGIII was born in Japan.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
We traded a king's ransom for him. There is huge pressure on him starting right now.
Yeah that's another downside to this. We really have to be careful about putting the franchise on his shoulders. Too much pressure and he might be the next David Carr. |

I think it makes sense in a way. Shanahan is going to roll with RG3, get two years with him to make it work. And well if he doesn't work out, MS would be gone. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I may have to break out my Superman socks on draft day.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
FATE.. and our typical poor luck caused the 3 1st Round Picks to go...
In my thinking... there are 3 unique factors that FORCED the Skins into 3-1st Round Picks: A) The Browns - We just HAPPENED (our luck) to be competing with a team who had 2 1st round picks when we are trying to trade up. Bad coincidence... this drove the asking price up. B) Peyton Manning - Apparently, Peyton Manning was not going to be a backup/fallback option and our whole FO & Staff knew we NEEDED one of the "big 3 (Luck, RGII, Manning)"... this drove our buying point up. C) WR Position - We just happen to be shopping for a top-teir FA WR at the same time as this scenario is playing out. This means we had to make a deal early, before free agency starts. Hard to sell a WR on a team with no QB... The flip-side is, the cost goes up BECAUSE free agency hasn't started, with FA QB options landing with teams competing for the #2 pick. Ouch. 3 bad coincidences that just happened to hit us as this trade played out. I say... hey... they realized they had to do what they had to do to get their guy. I hate losing the 2nd round pick the most, though... but... hey... WE HAVE A REAL HOPE AT THE QB POSITION FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LOOOOOONNNNGGG TIME!!! LET'S CELEBRATE THAT, NOT WHAT THE FUTURE PICKS "MAY" HAVE BEEN!! |
