Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
Pat White is not making this team over Rex Grossman
And PW has zero chance of making the team. He is tremendously scheme-limited. We didn't run much of the base offense with him at all. While true that he made some really good athletic plays he did it against scrubadubs. It was fun to watch but won't work once the big kids take the field.
Rookie standouts - B Jenkins and Amerson .
Helu is going to be a big part of the offense. And last but not least ... White will b cut. |
Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
The Good: Cousins played awesome which I think is crucial to come out and play well for confidence, Helu looked good, Morgan and Hankerson played great, and first team Oline looked dominant. On defensive I thought our young corners played well: Amerson, Minnefield and Crawford all had pretty strong games. Another rookie was Brandon Jenkins on the rush that helped collaspe the line on Kerrigan's sack...I tell ya quiet play, big time potential.
The Bad: First, Im worried about our Oline depth...McRib, Pashos werent good at all. Compton was meh. Big plays giving up on defense, not cool, but im not worried. Special teams coverage was really bad, but just first game need to improve.
Great summation, thanks! |

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
Agree, if White has to start...we're done.
However, I'd keep him as the 3rd QB for the value he brings in practice preparing for Vick twice a year and other mobile QBs. Romo (to an extent), Rodgers (of course won't come close to AR's arm/accuracy), Kap at SF. If we make the playoffs, we'll likely run into SEA along the way. If Rex is truly valuable as a Coach, make him one.
I think that would takes some of his power away. he is more a mentor then a boss. I have had mentors at work that are not my boss. As a player he is one of the guys someone to look up too as a coach he just be another boss someone you had to prove yourself too. |
Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
Any word on how badly Jeremy Kimbrough was injured?
|
Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
Didn't get a huge look at ST like I wanted since we have a new coach. The little we did see was 'ehhh'. Dawson was bad. Sav was mediocre. I'd have loved to see us give Kai a shot at that 56 yarder in the first half versus punting but he's more proven and seeing the punt coverage teams was probably more important. Punt/kick coverage was not good.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
Was anyone else as irritated as I was over Hankerson not fighting for that first down on the first drive? (I believe the first drive) He was hit about half a yard short and went straight down. Linebackers or not, they didn't drive him backwards, they didn't have that chance, he definitely didn't fight at all. Mike Shanahan didn't look too happy either, it looked like he said something to him when he came off the field. It looked like he was protecting himself from the hit.
Maybe he didn't want to be injured in a preseason game, but if he did that during the season, I would have been irate. As it stood, I was more like wtf was that? |

So on that Kerrigan sack, Kerrigan had all both hands on the ground on the inside and Jenkins was over the top the D line or on the outside? Was the alignment four across or 3 across down on the D line? I guess on the other side Orakpo was standing next to Bowen. Just trying to figure that out, because thats kinda a new look |
Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
I will say this much I was more impressed with Skins then the Titans. They probably trade Locker for Cousins.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread
Didn't get to see the game, but Jason Reid's write up says Rambo had a horrible game. Not surprised because it seems rookie DBs have a hard learning curve.

Not my impression at all. He definitely made some errors but all of them seemed pretty correctable. Bad angles, imprecise run fits. Overall he looked as comfortable and natural as anyone to me. I was content with it. He looked like a rookie who'll be able to help. Amerson looked good. |
