That pretty much sums it up. Snyder and Cerrato produced a better on field product in their last 5 years than Bruce Allen during his 5 years. Soak that up for a minute before you do anything.
Both results sux soooo? I know we are having a crack attack from yesterday, but lets put down the glass dick for a second.

Every HC should be given more than a year.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...

Gruden definitely needs atleast one more year. Hell if we win one more game we are improved. That being said BA should be removed. Id rather be in cap hell with no draft picks and semi respectable than have money to spend and field 3 win teams as a result of it. This is by far the worst two year period in possibly redskin history that we are on the verge of. Griff no longer looks like the phoenix that will rise from the ashes and take us to the promised land either.

The fact that you dont believe Gibbs had a role in that is pretty laughable. What happened once Gibbs left? You know, those last two years.

They crapped all over themselves in FA again this year.
Do you really want to go down the list and name coaches that took over bad teams and had bad first years?
It could be pretty fun. Here's the recent list of coaches taking over teams with a bad record and turning things around in just one season:

- Reid in KC
- Caldwell in Detroit
- Pettine in Cleveland

There's got to be more, I'm too busy to research right now.

Again, Gruden hasn't shown any indication he's anywhere near ready to be a pro HC. Sloppy, unprepared and often unmotivated team, especially his unit on offense.

His x's and o's are maybe worse than leadership qualities too, but that was issue going back to Cincy and nobody should be surprised there.

Sooo, to be clear. You would prefer to bring Vinnie back than to give Gruden even 1 year?

Same story with Caldwell inheriting a loaded roster in Detroit. Of note, both KC and Detroit have elite players on their D-lines, and both get solid play out of the QB position. Reid does deserve credit for signing Alex Smith as one of his first official moves in KC. As for Pettine, he seems to be doing it with smoke and mirrors, and I don't expect Cleveland to stay atop their division.

Cleveland is flying by the seat of their pants and they have no clue whats gonna happen week to week. AFC north is all tied up and the Browns arent coming out on top of that division.

I DO NOT want to see anymore of Ryan Clark. There is no more use for him to be on the field. Put in Thomas and some of the other young guys in the secondary.

Been following the tweets from Gruden's press conference today. Say what you will, the man shoot straight from the hip.

Responding to D.Jax's post on Instagram (Can't be epic with basic ****"): Addressed the comments with the team. Agreed that they were aimed at RG3.

As to RGIII's comments that the everyone the team needs to look in the mirror: RGIII needs to worry about himself. It's Gruden's job to worry about the team.

On RGIII's play:
- Screwing up basics. Not anywhere close to where he needs to be. Taking 5 step drops on 3 step routes. Not moving up in the pocket when he should. Footwork really bad.
- His overthrows to D.Jax were big plays. TBay hit their plays to Evans, needed to hit ours to D.Jax;

Ian Rappaport: "I can't say I have ever heard a head coach talk about his QB like Jay Gruden just did about RGIII. Very, very real stuff."

B. McHenry: "Look at the massive rift between RG3 & Shanahan behind closed doors. Gruden went hard publicly. Interesting to see how Griffin handles."

Huge fan of RG3 - but, yup. Sit down, shut up, & play hard. Stop tweeting about haters and improve your footwork and pocket presence. Learn your position before telling others they need to improve theirs.

Bigger fan of Gruden. He may fail here, but the man stepped it up and said. "My team. My calls."

Couple answers:

I didn't mention anything about Gibbs, not sure who that was?

I never want Vinnie here again, my point was Bruce Allen has actually been worse in terms of the GM/personnel situation. Time to restructure the FO is what I'm saying.

Not sure what y'all are seeing in Gruden that deserves another year.

No reason he shouldnt tell it how it is. Like you said Griff should have one worry - his game.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...

I agree and disagree -- RGIII surely needs to focus on his own game, but as the QB, he has responsibility for movement and positioning of other guys on offense and leading in the huddle, and so he has to lead there and make sure others are on the same page with him.

While I dont mind hearing it, but damn Gruden is feeding the trolls. Because now RG3 is gonna face more questions about stuff like the lockerroom, etc. Drama drama drama

It's never ever EVER a good idea to list off one year turnarounds as an indicator of sustained success.
