I wonder the same thing. I know Cooley isn't going to be top 10 - maybe not even top 20 - but i think he could still be a contributor to this team.

He comes at no risk, and now that he wants to waive basically all of his rights just to play - it seems like they'd be able to find something he could do.

I'm baffled they at least didn't work Cooley out.....
I got carried away with excitement there.

I'm wondering how waiving negotiated rights in a union shop would work under the CBA. I'm not sure, off the cuff, if he could.

He's 33 years old folks, his knees were shot when he was still playing. Time to move on. If he still had something left there's 31 other teams that he could be playing for.

I'm not opposed to at least giving the guy a workout to see what hes got but I agree its sadly a long shot he still has what it takes.
As for Rg3 ... Oh well I'm used to him speaking too much and saying crazy shit so, oh well w.ever I don't care.

I agree...especially since Cooley says he's the best TE in the league....oh...I mean in his "mind"

Cooley and RGIII should both shut up. Cooley can't play anymore and RGIII can't keep from making comments that cause him to receive bad press.
Cooley just laid out an offer the team can't refuse on the radio. Have to wait for the audio vault to link.

He is basically willing to waive every right as a vested player including injury pay, and play for the league minimum, and host TE develpmental meetings at his home.

What is the down side?
wasting a roster spot on a guy that can't help you and has no future with your team (on the field).

To me all these positive things about how the Redskins feel about how he's coming along is just propaganda by the Redskins. It's obvious they're doing their best to keep everything positive about him. To me it's just more coddling from management.

Did Jordan Reed get hurt in practice? Damn he might be the most injured player we've had in a while around here. It's constantly something with him.

Are people still talking about Cooley? Really? Dude wasn't even noticeable back on the squad in 2012, and now you want him to return 3 years removed from playing with shitty knees? Not only that, he doesn't play special teams.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Even McC thinks it's ridiculous.

Re: All things Redskins training camp

We do not need Cooley..end of story..what we need is young healthy fast guys who know how to block at tight end..that is what kills me about the draft..there were really good tight ends we could have taken in the late rounds..insurance so to speak..news flash to redskins ..you can't have too many tight ends and DB's.
