Re: (Twice-annual guaranteed L) Giants postgame thread
I wouldn’t say there’s nothing to lose… first year as owner and you fire your HC during the season? Doesn’t really reflect well. It’s a total Snyder move, the kind of stench we’re trying to get rid of. And you’re sending a bad message to the locker room.
The grown up move is to clean house once the season is over.
Nope, the grown up move is to announce that the team has underperformed for too long (not just Rivera's tenure) and that the team has (hopefully already completed) conducted an extensive GM search, and we are happy to announce [insert awesome name here] as the GM as of today(Friday). While this season is ongoing, [awesome name guy] will be working to set our storied franchise back on a path to excellence that led the Washington Redskins 3 super bowls, and to new super bowl wins in the future for your hometown team. |

I’m all for naming a new GM at any time. I meant cleaning house when it comes to the coaching staff. |
Re: (Twice-annual guaranteed L) Giants postgame thread
Our future GM is very likely working for another team and the season is not over yet. I have no idea if the rules are the same for negotiating contracts with front office employees as it is w/ players, but I would imagine so. My bet is they're doing their due diligence and research to get a list of X number of candidates that they will interview as soon as the season is over.
