I made a football related post! |
They said his blocking is very coachable. He played at a small school so his coaching and competition isn't NFL caliber. Give him to our TEs coach and hell make him a good/better blocker. Plus Fred couldn't block so it's not a droppoff from what we had. Improvement in my eyes.
I concur. Said the same thing about Gronkowski coming out stating that is run blocking is inconsistent. Now he is one of the better run blocking tight ends in the league. Hopefully they coach run blocking better for him than they did for Fred Davis. |

I made a football related post!
RR breaking news now? WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TO?!!!?!?!?!? Seriously, I thought Tapp was a 4-3 end? I'm not sure he has any experience in a 3-4. |

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Daryl Tapp is basically a Chris Wilson replacement/ fill in for when rob "my tooth hurts" Jackson is suspended the first four games.
|
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
And it must be true because it's posted in the other 2013 Free agency thread.
Double Tapp? |
huge mistake going TE 2 or 3rd round. huge
I agree. I'd blow a gasket if we drafted a TE in the 2nd or 3rd. Our defensive secondary needs too much help to justify picking a TE for a offense that ranked near the top.(without davis) |
Todd McShay's newest mock draft has #Redskins drafting Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego State at #51.
If we take a TE @ 51 , he better be the next coming of M. Bavaro or Kellen Winslow . I just hope we hit big on our first couple of picks ! |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Thats obviously crap now that Davis has resigned.
FFS....we need the best safety available, I dont see any other way to go. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
With Davis back in the fold, TE in the first two picks should be off the table.
|
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
my mock draft:
DB. DB. DB. DB. DB. DB. DB. DB it's clever. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Antoine Winfield has interest from Denver as well (NFLTradeRumors). AW said he wants to win, Denver is a contender, with a little more money than us, so this team right now along with Minnesota are threats to get him.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
love it. Cowboys are amazing. their cap is screwed
|
If they weren't tied to him before, they are now. I bet the cap hit for cutting him means they are stuck with him for at least another three years.
You know what? I am okay with that. |

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
What were their options? Trade for Jason Campbell? Try to get Geno Smith? Matt Barkley?
|
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
According to Doug Baldwin's twitter account, Matt Flynn has been traded to Oakland.

A move I think Oakland will regret. What have they got to trade anyway? Seems to me they just traded a buttload for Palmer.
|

I could imagine a possible trade to Oakland, Phoenix or NYJ. Imagine the picks they could fleece from those teams. |

Tandler's latest post on Real Redskins says there is a chance Oakland releases Palmer. Personally, I don't see it happening. If they do though, who's the top candidates for signing him? Buffalo, or maybe Cleveland? |

Ive heard Arizona would be the landing spot for Palmer. Aging QB vets have worked for him in them in the near past, but if they dont improve their Oline... |
Well, if they've traded for Flynn, I think it a foregone conclusion that Palmer is gone. Palmer already rejected a 3M pay cut and has intimated he would rather be a back up on a contender than start for a team three or four years away.
He is going to count ~13M against their cap. Can't see how they hold onto both. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Maybe the Raider's plan is to sign Vince Young, have him and Flynn battle it out for the starting job.
Gotta feel sorry for the teams who don't have young, exciting, Pro Bowl quarterbacks to lead them to the playoffs. HTTR! |

Brown's just got Campbell. Probably Arizona |

It's insane how much Kolb has made based on zero results his whole career. |
It's insane how much Kolb has made based on zero results his whole career.
Seriously. The guy is set for life off a couple of decent games in Philly and a lot of hype from Andy Reid. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Kolb isn't the only backup who performed a few times and got everyone in a tizzy to get him. I think Matt Cassell has him beat. Kolb played part of a season, while Cassell only played a few games. KC was dumber than dirt to get him, as was Arizona in getting Kolb, but both clubs were desperate.

How does Kevin Kolb keep getting work?

and matt flynn too... gus f. was better than all of them.

I don't think going after Fred Davis was a bad idea. We only singed him to a one year, prove yourself kind of deal. The only way the Bills would have been stupid for going after him is if they had actaully signed him to a multi-year deal worth a ton of cash. |

nothing. |

Actually it was Cassell that pretty much played the whole year, when Brady went down for the season in the first game of the year back in 08 it was Cassell who stepped in for the rest of the season and led them to an 11-5 record. That's why KC traded for him. Whereas Kolb only played a few games with the Eagles and the Cards were apparently impressed enough to trade for him. |
