I will only let my son play for non-parent run organizations. I feel bad for REC kids that are stuck with DAD BALL. People think HOAs are bad deal with these dad run REC programs; they are little czars. My son is 13 now i have learned drop off pick up avoid other parents and just keep your mouth shut. At 13 its up to him what he makes of his playing time and the teams he makes. There is a kid on his LAX team his dad is a Raven's coach and former NFL player. That kid runs so fast that people at tournaments stop just to watch this kid run. My son could practice and train everyday with the best he will never reach that level. There are so many dads that just think if i push him harder he will achieve that level; yeah no. Genetics you got it or you don't. BUT with that said there is a level for everyone and everyone if they choose to play a sport should be able to enjoy it with like skill sets around them. Parents have just turned the AA A and B into a status symbols to brag on FaceBook about. I am almost out of the woods and my son loves to play his sports at his level but man its been a long 9 years. Best think i ever did was not sign up for Facebook. |
Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
ugh Facebook really is the worst. I deactivated my account a few years ago, but I pop on once in a while if I have something to sell on the marketplace. About the only thing FB is good for.

My social media: LinkedIn and Warpath
Got rid of Facebook about 10 years ago. One of the better decisions I've made. |
Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
I was on FB the other day to sell my old xbox, so of course I nosed around a bit. Just the same old crap and misinformation. It's insufferable and I'd really rather not know how dumb people I know are.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Man, Fuck New Year’s Eve...only thing that makes it worth while is being a live show. Other than that, I see rookies and lush fucks. Get the fuck outta my face.
Relaxing on the couch, dog laying below me, gf rubbing my feet on other side of couch...I’m sipping on Jim Beam black with ginger...good enough for me. |
Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Sunday night northbound 95 Massaponax/Fredericksburg traffic. Pre-corona, post-corona, New Year's weekend, regular average weekend, accident/no accident, some things never change. From Massaponax to the toll lanes northbound 95 is always jacked up.

When people don't pick up their dogs shit, it's night time, you can't see it, and you step in it.

Dang you live with a bunch of savages. |
Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
When you want to stay in a hotel for 1 night, and the non-fundable pet fee costs more than the room itself. Hotels really try to screw pet owners, and they're blatant about it.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Paying a diagnostic fee.
I get it takes time to figure out the problem but it use to be in the day if you got the repair done you don’t pay the diagnostic fee. My spa was not heating , I tore it apart and figured out the board cut burnt up. Call spa repair place tell them I need a new board ; oh wait we have to come out and make sure. So they do it took 10 seconds for him to say you need a new board. No shit. Send me estimate it includes a $150 diagnostic fee; so ducking annoying. |
