Re: Jason Campbells response to Portis
Do you think JC's leadership was a bigger problem than say the OL this year? Or would we have won more games if he was simply a more vocal, take charge kind of guy?
Yeah, it's like "crap this guy is yelling at us, man I guess that means I have to block now." Lol, I don't think thats how it works. I mean a guy whos a good leader can help give an extra spark or push, but usually that can only go so far. |
Re: Jason Campbells response to Portis
For what it's worth, Campbell just had his best season.

Please read my brief description of what a leader is. That would be a good starting point. |
Re: Jason Campbells response to Portis
You have the wrong idea of what a leader is and when he leads. He just doesn't lead in games, he also is a leader in practice, outside of practice. He gets people in line doing and thinking the right way or the redskins way -- so that way, the players and even coaches trust that everyone is prepared to do their best in games.
Seems to be unfair to ask that of any one player, but that's what the quarterback to me needs to be - a leader, THE leader.
Sounds like a good explanation of a leader. Still I don't think that a leader could make up for the dysfunction that was the personnel along the O-line and the fact that guys like CP had the ability to undermine the authority he did have. Also keep in mind I'm not a JC supporter, I want Bradford in here with our first pick. |
Re: Jason Campbells response to Portis
I'm siding with Campbell. Portis was completely out of line and unprofessional.

Yes, me too. |

Even though our viewpoints differ, I can respect this -- since you have respected my point of view. That's more than what I can say about others who don't share my opinion. |
They -- as in team-- were unprepared.
Does that make sense to you now?
It is the HC's responsibility to have the team prepared bro. C'mon dude anyone with common sense knows that. |

Of course, but who do you think the general on the field needs to be? And to make it clear-- he isn't just a general on the field. |
Re: Jason Campbells response to Portis
Well, seeing as Shanahan has publicly said that he expects JC to start next season (even though it's early and anything can happen)... I'm going to guess that this means Portis is gone.
Too much ego on this team and not enough space. |

And to make it clear-- he isn't just a general on the field.
I understand what you're saying. Who knows? Maybe Shanahan has a plan for JC and feels that he needs to give him a chance under his tutelage/system? Maybe Shanny wants to help JC take it to the next level and finally become that "field general". BTW, its hard to be a field general when you're on your back the entire game. |

Re: Jason Campbells response to Portis
Hahaha... Finally someone has really shoved their foot down Portis big mouth. I suspected the o-line and Sellers were tired of his antics, drinking coolaid while everyone else was busting their ass off during practice and then b*tch on Sundays about horrible blocking etc...
The Skins were never a cohesive unit as long as their were preferential treatment for a few. Bye bye Portis, maybe in the UFL you can finally skip all practice and just turn up on gameday with your playbook and play. |

Yeah, I don't know why I waste my time in responding. People on here are so ignorant and close-minded sometimes. |
