Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Three 1st round picks and a 2nd? I guess when you are competing against Cleveland, you had to roll the dice and pony up, but that is a shit ton of picks.
I'm not sure how I feel about this other than i'm happy for the QB rumour mill to be stopped. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Forget about "importance" of first round picks and consider reality. We swapped 1st round picks this year and gave up two more in the future plus a second. Only about 50% of 1st round picks work out and it drops from there. Just playing the odds, only two of the 4 picks we gave up would likely have worked out.
It was a steep price to pay, but IF Griffin works out, it's well worth it. If we win the next few years, those future picks will be even less valuable. IF griffin works out, who cares what we gave up? |
OH MY GOD THAT GUY BETTER BE AMAZING( using more restraint than I ever have in my life)

BTW, kudos to Glazer for breaking the news. Very impressed with him.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Tannehill, Foles, Kellen Moore, Kirk Cousins, and Brock Osweiler would have all represented great hope for the future at the quarterback position.
You don't trade three first rounders for hope. You trade them for wins. Actual. Tangible wins. No more of this 11-21 crap. That what you trade picks for. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Thank god no Tannehill

I hope my baseless hunch that Luck is ours is correct.
I'm such a maverick. :laughing- |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Oh an for all of you griping about how rg3 only has the POTENTIAL to be a franchise QB, the picks we gave up were also just players with POTENTIAL. We chose griffins potential vs that of 4 other players. It's not as ridiculous as some of you are making it out to be.

I'm so happy with this! In an odd way, I feel like we have some closure. In an odd way.
Now we have to go win some games. |

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
I know this..
A backfield filled with RGIII and Roy Helu is a damn powder-keg of speed ready to break a big play at any time. Fastest QB/RB combo in the league (at least tied with Vick/McCoy). Matter of fact.. they could start implementing some of those quick-draws those Eagles run with their guys instantaneously. |
Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Well at least there wont be any pressure on him.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft
Three first round picks is an awful lot. It leaves somewhat of a void. But the Redskins can still build a team around RG3. This let's us know that for the next few off seasons the Redskins will be major players in free agency to be able to make up for those 1st round draft picks. At least we get our QB. But in a way, this puts tons and tons of pressure on Griffin III to perform well from day one. But I know he'll do his best because of what the Redskins gave up to get him.
