Wasn't the whole point for Kyle to earn the big job here?
Not necessarily. I mean he may still, but my point really is that he shouldn't wait for it to happen. He should move on after this season. Hes ready |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
why did we pass it 50 times today? did the score dictate that :P or are we just abandoning our game plan purely on principle now?

This is the reason we are 0-3. |

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
I have specifically said the opposite here. And I stand by my prediction that we will play in the NFC championship. |

In my limited opinion Kyle was ready when he left Houston. I've thought that we had a bonus situation in that Kyle could be playing on a bigger stage but he chose to help us so that he could hang with Dad. I will be sad for us but happy for Kyle if he moves on to a HC spot. |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
The 3 attempts at the end of the game to score a TD that failed is basically what is wrong. They struggle to make plays. Then any other time they have one decent play, one bad play, and one play with not quite enough yards and then punt. They struggle just to run plays correctly. Bring back the option or it will be like this every Sunday.

Really bad coaching. I put that on Kyle. I have no clue why we are not running the ball. And I have no clue are only play is the pistol pitch. I really wish we put RG3 under center more and run outta different looks from that set. RG3 play action is so much more effective when he's under center. When he outta the pistol, play action is not as good. Like to see more Helu on second, first down. Maybe run some draw outta shotgun or more conventional RB screens on 1st down. |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Alfred Morris 15 carries yesterday and it was not a blow out. WTF! It seems this team forgot about the running game.
It is really early in the season. Not saying that we are playing like a good team right now, because we are not, but some help is hopefully on the way. Week 6 we get Jarvis Jenkins, Rob Jackson and hopefully Tanard Jackson back. We are two games away from a tie for first in the NFC Least. Skins just have to stay with in reach. As soon as Demarco Murray gets injured as he always does. that team will implode. Cowboys like the Giants do not have any RB depth. One injury to Demarco and that team is dead in the water, because they go back to being one dimensional like last year. When did it become fashionable in the NFL for some teams to only keep one good RB? Cowboys and Giants have 3 to 4 good WR's and two good TE's but only one good RB? I bet the Giants are regretting letting Ahmad Bradshaw go, especially since he went for 19 carries for 95 yards and 1 TD yesterday. DOH! |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
Wow, the sky has completely fallen.
I'm as disappointed as any of you but talking about 0-16, trading Orakpo, firing a Shanahan, etc. While my expectation of 11-5 or anything close seems to be a pipe dream right now I don't think this overall team is historically bad as some are suggesting. The defense, well maybe. Not trying to pull positives from a loss to a team that's won 6 of their past 19 games but aside from the 2 completely avoidable, yet crushing turnovers by RG3 this was his best game by far and resembled 2012 RG3 at some points. The throw that Robinson dropped (yes dropped, no excuses, catch it cleanly there's no need to replay it-leave it out of the refs decision) was perfect. He was making throws all day that were on the money and giving his WR a chance to get some YAC. His pre-fumble scramble is what scared the hell out of defenses pre-ACL. Eliminate his mistakes and we'd all be saying 'HE'S BACK!' this morning. Kyle needs an ass whupping. 50-15 pass/run balance is stupid. No screens called to Morris or Helu. Too many WR screens on 3rd and medium. No stretch runs and an infatuation with the toss/pitch. One of his worst games as a playcaller IMO. Our tackling is abysmal. Where has Stephen Bowen been? Fletcher has lost 3 steps. Amerson is playing like a rookie and the big play vs. Burleson was killer but this was his best game by far. Haslett needs to get out of the booth before he's out of a job. Finally special teams have been weak and the penalties are all on MS. Can't allow them.. In a 7 point loss, can't give the offense 20 free yards and an additional 1st down in scoring territory. |

No, it's the historically bad defense! As long as the defense gives up 500 yards per game, the Skins will struggle to win, no matter what they do on offense or special teams. There are some brush fires on offense and special teams but there is a raging conflagration on defense that needs to be put out now. |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
8. The Magic Number of games that Shanahan has to win this year to keep his job.
What do you all think? How many games must Shanahan win this year, bare minimum to keep his job. |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
The optimist in me says we still have 5 division games to go. Plenty of opportunity to make up ground.
But then I look at the D and I want to throw up. |

But his turnovers killed the team, as did numerous other things. Hopefully he can build on the positives yesterday. However, because of the heavy price that was paid to get him, we need him to be a great QB. Not one that makes stupid Int's in the red zone, or one that makes a great throw, then a bad one. W/out the threat to run, I'm just not sure he'll ever be a great QB. |
Re: Redskins Lions postgame
^ sorry Mat even with RG3 I just don't see this team winning more than 7 games. And thats if we get on a 3-4 game win streak, if not then we could see 5 wins .
