Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
By the way, where was that fade to Hank when we were struggling in the red zone?
|
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Maybe Rave, but who knows ,with enough reps as a starter he is bound to learn as he goes. He what, has 5 starts to his resume before his current stint with us?
|
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
A lot of my Skins fan friends have already given up on watching the games or following the team in any way. I am a masochist so I will continue to watch every second of every game. Nothing new today. Just a total lack of talent on the offense. That will get fixed eventually so I am not that upset about the state of the team and I won't second guess the coaching until we have more than 2 players on offense that would actually start for any other team in the NFL.
Maybe some hope after all. If Beck can develop more during the course of the season maybe things really will look a lot better for 2012. We definitely need to draft a QB, but if this guy can improve somehow he is worth keeping on the roster. If improved he would make a good backup.
He seems to be more comfortable in the spread hurry up O. I am happy with Hank though |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
We only rushed 15 times? With Beck at the helm? I feel like this is an error at playcalling... We weren't running badly either. Helu was getting holes here and there.
All of a sudden we've turned into a pass first offense with a lame QB. *Sighs* |

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
John Beck is falling apart faster than Grossman did. He has relatively acceptable stats thanks to late fourth quarter drives that amount to nothing. He is scared of contact (I understand why) and has proven that after this season doesn't deserve a job in the NFL outside of a third stringer.
Roy Helu is an offensive threat, thank you for understanding your quarterback is afraid to throw the ball anywhere but to you and doesn't care if he's setting you up to get destroyed by Willis or anybody else. This guy's a keeper and if not a #1 running back, he's certainly a guy who can run every game. Hankerson.. Well, sample size... But I saw a lot more from him today than I have many of the other rookie receivers in the league. DHall.. Your time is up. You made a play today for the second time this season, but you realize that you legitimately have made TWO plays this entire year right? |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Circles Kyle shanahan* this is the problem gents Tom Brady wouldn't be good with this play calling

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
The Dolphins scored 31 today, we are in trouble. We can barely score a touchdown right now. Thank goodness I am out of the country for the last three weeks of the season.

Well Tom Brady is a talented QB with good accuracy and decision-making skills. Beck and Rex are not, and that's the problem with KS' gameplan. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Helu is really ripping himself in the post-game interview. Taking responsibility for not scoring as much. Stand up guy for a rookie.
|
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
To go into a season thinking Grossman and a guy named Beck were your answers at QB is poor decision making on the part of Allen and the Shanahans.

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Side note: Is the Smoot Smackdown thread locked because they want us to wait a day to cool down before we logically analyze why this team sucks? I don't believe the story that SS is busy after the game and he wanted to post the thread and lock it, only to unlock it tomorrow when he's not busy. If he was busy Matty or someone else would've just posted the thread.
If that is the concept I actually approve of it, because if the thread was open right now I'm sure everybody would be in there still upset about the game. This will actually give us the time to cool down before we all come to the conclusion our offense has a talent deficiency. |

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
The niners have a good D, but we had people running open that Becks just didn't see. I guess I don't see how playcalling is supposed to help with that.
Until we have real talent at the QB position (and a bunch of others) we are not going to be any good. |

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Our D isn't all that bad--if you have a SOUL-KILLING offense, it's hard to go back out there series after series.
Washington DC: We're good offensive coaches go to die? |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
I also don't understand why we don't go max protect on passes. It's like the coaching staff refuses to adjust to changes in the roster.

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
To all of the Beck apologizers out there...
What you are saying is that Moss & Lichtensteiger account for our ENTIRE OFFENSE, right?? Because those are the only REAL losses from our offense as compared to when Rex was getting us moving down the field with points on the board. (For BOTH TEAMS I realize... but WE we doing everything on offense better when he was in, you HAVE to see, right?) Helu = Hightower to me (maybe thats where we disagree?) ... Grossman 5 Starts - 3-2 record, 96 points (19 points/gm), 6 passing TDs, 549 Rush Yds (109 yds/gm). Beck 3 Starts - 0-3 record, 31 points (10 points/gm), 2 TD passes (in garbage time), 170 Rush Yds (56.7 yds/gm). This is all because of Moss & Lichtensteiger? Well damn... they should be fighting each other for league MVP! Look Rex sucks too... but Beck is not doing ANYTHING with this offense... NOTHING. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
Yeah, it seemed like in weeks past the receivers couldn't get separation and now that they are, he isn't looking for them...ugghh...dink-dunk...

Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
this season is lost. get the younger players reps, see if we can trade some of these older players for picks, stockpile as many pix as possible for 2012, and build the team thru that draft the best you can. What we have now wont get it done, cant get it done, and shouldnt be expected to get ANYTHING done.

Carson Palmer looks great. Ridiculous pass for a TD. Just saying;)

If this means we end up being like the bills, lions, 49ers of this year sometime in the next couple of years I suppose it is worth it. But even they have to prove that it is more than one year and they're not the Dolphins of a few years ago. |
Re: 49ers vs. Redskins Game Day Thread
I hate seeing other games and seeing well executed plays.. then thinking.. the Redskins can't make that play. I'm not talking about huge plays.. just really crisp ones.

If only that were true. The only plus out of this season is that we can get ahead of the curve next season by giving our newbies some good playing time and see who stays and plays and who gets to pack up their bags. It looks like anybody drafted during the Zorn era can get ready to be a future cut come next preseason camp if not sooner. I can see Fletch calling it quits. Not sure what w can do with D Hall, but he isn't worth what we are paying him by a mile! |

IF the Danny would even think of it, maybe bring back Norv as the OC, if SD fires him. I don't think anyone wants Norv as a HC after his debacle with SD. All that talent and he can't get to the big show. |

Rebuilding without our future signal caller makes all ours problems seem SO much worse.. I hate to get excited over a small sample size, but I really do think Helu is a special runningback. What have we seen this guy do wrong outside of a fumble and a couple drops? He comes in with speed and power. |
