I don't think he said he asked him to sit. He said they talked about DM possibly resting yesterday to heal up the next two weeks for the 2nd half of the season. A bit surprised that Shanahan would take the Lions game so lightly like that.

Personally, I think Kyle and Mike got pissed off, rightfully so, at McNabb's poor throw that led to the INT and made a snap decision. Even though Shanahan said that wasn't the case, that this was planned all along.

Let's see how McNabb snaps back from this. Helps that he's playing the Eagles I guess. He'll be pretty fired up, I'd imagine.

While we're talking McNabb. Watching that Armstrong 50 yard pass, the one that led to the Keiland Wiliams TD. Is it just me or does Armstrong have to stop and adjust for most of McNabb's deep throws? Not seeing many in stride
I am too lazy to cut and paste all the tweets on MS' press conference, but he really sounds like he stepped in it. Said they haven't practiced 2 minute drill since the Rams game. REALLY?? Asked DM to sit out Detroit game to heal up. REALLY?? wow. those two are shocking statements to me.
I don't think that Shanny bargained for the intensity of our press. This press conference is his true "Welcome to Washington" moment. After yesterday's f'ed up decision to bench McNabb, I hope he's enjoying the proctoscope.

I heard about that when he was in Philly. He does complete a lot of deep balls but he has a hard time hitting receivers in stride. It seems to be true because we see a lot of over/underthrown balls in the games. Most of his deep completions don't end up as touchdowns because Armstrong/Moss/whoever has to slow down and catch it and after they catch it they usually get tackled. I hate to ask more of them but I wish they'd be better at making a play once the ball is in their hands, because we can't count on touchdowns once they are inside the red zone. It is hard to make a play when the defender is bearing down on you, but they can spin, or just try to do something instead of just going down or going out of bounds.

Yet somehow he had a 37 yard run, his longest run in who knows how many years yesterday. If you're healthy enough to play 58 minutes, you're healthy enough to play 2

He lost me when he started praising Joey Galloway.

Don't think I agree with McNabb's benching in light of us still being in the mix for the playoffs and the OL being horrendous. I haven't had a chance to review the last few games to determine where the problem lies. That being said, wherever the problem lies, Grossman ain't the solution.

I also find it hard to believe that Kory L. is better than Dock at LG. KL would be better to replace Rabach. But I'm not getting paid 7 figures a year to fix this stuff and get wins.

Furthermore, how did we go from flying high in the friendly sky McNabb is growing and will be around for 3 years to this cluster mess of we don't have faith in him at all.

I would say it's all because he threw into triple coverage, and essentially, gave the Lions a great chance to win the game, but then why did he get another crack at it right afterwards?

I'm sorry, but I just have to blame the O-Line on this loss. McNabb couldn't get anything going because he had the whole Detroit defensive line in his face before he could turn around. Either that or Rabach was stepping on his foot! What a pathetic line. And what pathetic coaching AND play calling! And what horrible decisions on the inactive list! It sound like Portis is writing most of the responses to this. I can't imagine any sane person wanting to start Grossman over McNabb!

We ****ing could have had Lamarr Houston instead of the one-year rental in McNabb. Who wouldn't have loved that 4-3 front? Rak, AH, Houston, Jarmon could have been one of the possibilities.
Well in that case we should have half the team (or more) sit the bench. Seems Shannys picking on the High profile players IMO. I think everyone should stand accountable no matter the position or the salary.

I don't see that happening across the board.
This coach is going to soon learn that he too has to be held accountable for his actions and decisions, as well as how his team performs. He's finding out now that there wont be any refuge from the media here which is much different from anything he experienced in Denver. The locals will most definitely stay on his case until he get's it right or be gone.

This is one of those situations that is so ridiculous, something must be happening that we just don't know about.

Funny how Mr Accountablilty can't be held accountable for his own stupid mistake. McNabb is your best QB, so he naturally would be your 2 minute drill guy also. Guy can dish it out, but can't take it himself. Shanny should have just told the truth, that it was a knee jerk reaction, etc and admit the mistake.
