Only 1 million??...lol Hell the coach here at ECU makes that. That school profits (yes..profits) 50 million a year on Penn State football.
Here is something to think about. You ever think that Penn State pulls all images or names of Joe Paterno from the campus if its shown he really was involved heavily in the coverup?
Ive heard rumors already of taking his statue down, maybe as a symbolic gesture. I think as everyone digest the severity of what happend and joes role in it students/alumni/school will have a strong desire to separate themselves from his likeness |

Thats the base salary. He makes more with bonuses and 'donations' from boosters. |
“Having been in this profession a long time and knowing how close coaching staffs are, I knew that this was a secret that was kept secret,” Switzer said. “Everyone on that staff had to have known, the ones that had been around a long time.”
No doubt they all knew. Which is exactly why you have to fire the whole staff at the end of the year, if not now. |

I saw the portion of this interview that was aired last night... I totally commend this student in the middle of that madness. His look is priceless at 0:40, when the guy interrupts him. |
If Chris Brown gets community service and Stallworth gets probation then I seriously doubt that Joe Pa goes to jail. They don't just send 85 year old men with no criminal record to jail, never mind 85 year old men that can afford very expensive attorneys. He's more likely to look at a huge civil suit for negligence and if he does get convicted criminally it will be probation.
I agree with you but I was paraphrasing from the penn state neighbor's discussion, and also what I have been seeing on TV. TV said tonight that two of the charges Joe may face are felonies in the state of Pennsylvania and the violation of the Child Protective Services law can carry a 3 year sentence in jail. He most likely will have community service / some type of fines, but then again the judge can look how far back joe was covering things up and be stricter on him... I'm not a lawyer so i dont know how that all works. |

Seriously. |

No charges were filed against Sandusky in 1998. With the mother cowed into silence, the incident remained buried

It appears from the grand jury presentment that the school’s aim was to handle this report very quietly. They succeeded. No one who had been directly involved talked about it at the time. No one. Sandusky flaunted the so-called “ban” on his bringing kids to campus — in fact, he held Second Mile camps on other Penn State campuses as recently as 2008. We never noticed any sanctions against the former coach because they didn’t really exist
Sandusky released on bail, judge orders no contact with minors | PennLive.com Dude didn't have to pay 1 penny for bail. It's cool. From your pov I'm sure it must be tough to watch your alma mater go through something like this. It's crazy to think that one of the most iconic football coaches of our time could be involved with something so heinous. It's also crazy to think that on Saturday, for the first time in 46 years there will be someone else coaching Penn State from the sidelines. |

WTF??
For some reason I just get the feeling Sandusky is going to take the coward's way out and just kill himself, rather than face the rest of his life in prison. He's probably going to sit there and say, well I've lived a long and fulfilling life, now that it's going down the shitter it's time for me to make my exit. It's why I think there's just no appropriate justice for him. Killing him is the easy way out, letting him get raped in prison sounds like something he'd enjoy, and for some reason I get the feeling no matter how much money these kids get for their suffering, it's still not going to change the fact that they had to go through hell and will still need a lot of time and healing to get over it. |
Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
Well hate it that will end the Paterno era like that. But had Joe done things differently and told on his assistants and done more, who knows as he would had kept his job.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
Apparently, the Gary Schultz dude was involved with university police(VP or something) and McQueary did inform him of what he witnessed, allegedly. I'm just saying.

McQueary is the worst in all of this (save the obvious choice of Sandusky). He saw a 58 year old man sodomizing a kid. He was apparently 28 years old at the time 6'4 200 something pounds. I don't know about you but in a fight I would have thought that McQueary had the upper hand. I mean if he had seen him naked in the showers with the kid that would have been one thing, because even though thats inappropriate it still leaves a little room for reasonable doubt. However from what I'm hearing he actually saw the rape and there is nothing to misinterpret about that situation. He caught him red handed and rather then saving the kid from a feeble old man he ran and left that kid to suffer through more abuse, not even calling the police. That is unacceptable. Apparently one of the alleged reasons as to why he isn't being fired is to avoid any further liability. A university firing a whistle blower is apparently a great way to get sued. "Golly gee Joe Pa this is great. Putting my career ahead of the needs of that 10 year old boy......totally worth it" |
Rumors started today that there will be evidence released soon that Sandoushsky was actually pimping out young boys to rich pervs. A full on weird Nambla Sex ring type of thing. It was on aol earlier today. Who knows how much speculation that is but at this point, I'm not surprised by anything. I can't believe how evil this cat is. I grew up with a dad who arrested serial killers and sociopathic drug cartel hit men and this is giving me the same feeling in my stomach that the stories he would tell me about these demented raping serial killer types. Crimes that tear away the fabric of our very humanity. It's unreal man. Those poor kids.
