HARD pass on Ridder. It's Corral or Pickett in the first round or bust. Ridder made no plays, isn't accurate, didn't look of any of his wr's getting numerous balls batted.

In a game like this one you want to see something. Joe Burrow and Fields had performances in their biggest games where you knew they are 1st rounders. I saw nothing from Ridder at all. Just nothing. Mid round project imo.
Herbert kind of sailed under the radar. Had it not been for Taylor's injury he might not even have been starting this year. Anyone in this years draft look like the same kind of possibility?
Uh no Herbert was highly rated and many thought he'd go #1 in 2019 if he entered the draft. In 2020 he was rated as one of the top 7-10 players by just about everyone. None of the 2022 QBs are generally ranked in the top 10. It is a horrible year to draft a QB high. Maybe we will get lucky (Mahomes, Watson and Jackson weren't ranked top 10).

Revisionist history nonniey. He was rated top 7-10. Not even close. You would be hard pressed to find a top 10 ranking for him. After the pick many pundits gave the pick a C. Highest grade I could find was a B. He was hardly considered a no brainer.

Ridder certainly did not have a big game. But a lot of that may be on the hands of a poor offensive game plan and the fact that his offensive line was continually dominated. But it seems to me that, as someone else noted, he is a QB who would have to be developed. so if teams like the Colts or Titans could pick him up in the second round and let him sit and learn for a year or two, that would be a good move. But WFT needs help NOW. So I certainly would not use a first round picki on him in this draft.

2019 is irrelevant he came out in 2020. Wasn’t considered a top 10 prospect in 2020 and pundits graded the pick a C on average. It appears to have turned out okay for chargers.

Herbert was pretty well known QB prospect for a couple years, he certainly didn’t fly under a radar and being chosen in the top 10…that wasn’t considered a reach.

I hate not having that 5th round pick. I think we need guys at 7 positions. But we only have 6 picks. Would like to add a CB to this group. But there is free agency too.

9: R1 P9 - QB Matt Corral - Ole Miss
41: R2 P9 - S Jaquan Brisker - Penn State
73: R3 P9 - RB Breece Hall - Iowa State
111: R4 P9 - OT Dare Rosenthal - Kentucky
188: R6 P9 WR Charleston Rambo - Miami
228: R7 P9 LB Olakunle Fatukasi - Rutgers

I'm not taking a RB this year

Breece Hall would start over Gibson. Gibson then could be used all over, like how he was in college, and find a way to get him the ball 10 times a game, give or take.

The offense needs more weapons, I think he would add to our offense greatly.

We need 2 LB’s (in this draft I go LB first) QB, then CB, S, LT

Definitely need to add at least 2 LBs this offseason. Hopefully we can sign a solid veteran starter.

Mock drafts before FA are largely irrelevant. I just like doing them to learn about different players coming out. More for fun and knowledge than any real clue what positions we still need more help in.

I said he kind of sailed under the radar, and meant in the sense he wasn't touted as a top 2-3 pick, but clearly should have been with hindsight. I mean, had we known what we know now, any doubt we'd have taken him over Young?

What I'm asking in this case, as I don't see much at all of college ball over here, is there any guy coming out that might be a similarly somewhat underrated QB? Worth taking a shot at with a top 10 pick? I sense not.

If Corral was the same size as Herbert, I think he would definitely be a top 5 pick. He still might end up there, but it's not sure-fire.
