I think it is well deserved. He's a losing head coach w/out Tom Brady. That is a fact. The great coaches can get it done w/ different types of teams, w/ different QB's. That is why I feel Kyle is the best. He just keeps winning games no matter who is under center. |

We know BB ain’t shit without Brady, but the National media and most writers will disagree with us, it’s all a popularity contest. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Joe Gibbs was a master at winning with different QB's ... man those days were sweet !!

That’s why he’s the best to me, all others had the same QB winning their SB’s. |

One thing that shouldn’t be overlooked is the quality of coaches he had on the team. Gibbs doesn’t have a coaching tree because he surrounded himself with proven coaches like Joe Bugel, Pettibon, Peccatiello and Wayne Sevier (San Diego Native!). Charley Taylor was a WRs coach! Rivera surrounded himself with bums and it shows. |

Those were the days !! I get excited and sad at same time thinking about those teams .. I'm not sure we will ever get to that level again .. the league itself is so different ..

Other than the late 30s and early 40s and the 80s. The franchise has been average to below. There was even a 25 year period where they didn't make the playoffs. Of course back then only a few teams made it not half the league. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Great interview between Keim and former GM Rick Spielman. You can skip to 5:17 when the interview begins.

I am excited to see who the ownership brings in. As much as I want to know, I also like that we aren't seeing the leaks and stories that were a hallmark of Snyder's pettiness.

Agreed. And I'm quite sure there is a short list of potential candidates already. |

Not quite. George Allen had a record of 67-30-1 from 1971 to 1977. That included playoff appearances and an appearance in Super Bowl VII. The Skins were quite good for most of the 1970s. I would describe the 2nd glory period as starting with Lombardi's sole season and ending with Gibbs' departure. Even Jack Pardee, the link between Allen and Gibbs, went .500 in his three years. Better than a lot of coaches this century. So yea, it comes down to the Baugh era and the Lombardi to Gibbs era. Otherwise there have been some long periods of malaise. |

I wasn't sure if a single Super Bowl appearance was enough to warrant an above average but that record is no joke. It definitely was a great decade for Redskins football. |

The Over the Hill Gang paid immediate dividends. But they were all ancient by the time Pardee, himself an OTH member, took over. Should be better days soon. :) |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Kalen DeBoer and his OC Ryan Grubb would be on my list for HC candidates as well as Michael MacDonald DC for the Ravens.
