Re: Are you buying into the Shanaplan?
Perhaps I am in the minority but the defense is just not the same without Orakpo. I just have not seen that much of a pass rush in the absense of Rak and Adam. The defense has tightened lately, but there still seems to be a lack of pressure.
The defense is able to get the job done. Our secondary has played better during the 5 game winning streak. Yes, because of the season ending injuries to Carriker and Orakpo the sack totals are down this year. But what Haslett has been able to do is adjust to the level of personnel that he has and he's called some great games lately and has placed the defensive players into positions to make plays and they have done that. We need to get over not having Orakpo and Carriker. Cofield had sack last week and the defense HAS been getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks. That may not produce sacks, but the pressure applied has been just as effective as sacks....... |
Re: Are you buying into the Shanaplan?
I am beginningi to, but need to see it play out another year. We finally seem to be in the right direction. I guess I am still alittle cynical after years and years of inepitude.

Thought this should go here
I don't understand some people's logic. Why would Kyle Shanahan want a head coaching job handed to him? If there's other head coaching jobs available when the times comes, then wouldn't Kyle Shanahan want to explore those opportunities? Why would he want his father's job just handed to him? For all we know, Jim Haslett might get the Redskins head coaching job once Mike Shanahan leaves Washington. |
Re: Are you buying into the Shanaplan?
He's on a short list of those ready for that job this year.
I mean, I think it would be cool if he stuck here another year, but it's probably not realistic. I'm happy that discussions are ongoing to try to keep him. |

Re: Are you buying into the Shanaplan?
I cant believe we are playing for the East title prime time, last regular game of the season against our biggest rival. hats off to the NFL schedulers, good job.
How did this happen? Im still in a daze...is this really happening with a Rookie QB? WTF?????????????? |

I mentioned Haslett because he's been a head coach before. If Kyle Shanahan moves on and Mike steps down, Bruce Allen would indeed promote Haslett to HC.....people forget that Jim Haslett was the NFL coach of the year in 2000. |

No, he wouldn't. Morris would be in line for the job over Haslett, easily. |

On top of that what available hc job is there that would be worth someone of his young age jumping on that is going to be anywhere near as promising as what the future holds in Washington. Only fools rush in. |

Little known story that most people don't know. Before Snyder's first season as owner he tried to hire Jim Haslett to be his HC. Cowher blocked the move though That said, Haslett is not going to be promoted to HC here |
Re: Are you buying into the Shanaplan?
The Eagles scared me yesterday more then any of the teams that are going to make the playoffs. Nothing worse then playing a team that does have some talent, at home, with their coach coaching their last home game with nothing to loose.
